“Stuart, don’t you dare!” Jaylen shouted, clearly agitated. “Do you even know who she is?”
“Someone shut him up,” Stuart snapped, completely unfazed.
Immediately, one of Stuart’s men stepped forward and clamped a hand over Jaylen’s mouth, cutting him off mid–sentence.
Stuart turned back to Narissa with a greasy smile. “Come on, sweetheart. Let me teach you something fun.”
Narissa didn’t even bother listening. She stared at him coldly and said flatly, “Let him go.”
Seeing how serious she looked, Stuart turned to his crew and laughed. “Check her out! She’s got fire, like a little chili pepper. Gotta say, I like that.”
His guys all burst into mocking laughter.
But the moment Stuart turned back around and met Narissa’s eyes again, his expression darkened. “Girl, don’t push your
luck.
“You think you can come into my turf and start giving orders? Better get with the program before you get hurt.”
His low, threatening tone, backed by the presence of his crew, would’ve made most girls cry on the spot.
Narissa just repeated calmly, “Third time. Let him go.”
Stuart’s face twisted with anger. He shouted, “You really think you’ve got some balls, huh? You know what women like you are to guys like me? Just a bitch.
“What’s a bitch like you doing in a high–class place like this anyway? Where’s the manager? Is this how you treat your VIP guests?”
Before he could finish ranting, Narissa suddenly stepped forward and kicked him square in the chest.
The kick caught Stuart completely off guard and knocked him flat on his back. His men stifled their laughter as he lay there looking like a fool..
“Stuart, I’m here!” A loud voice came from the entrance right then.
Everyone turned. It was the man they’d seen earlier entering with a dramatic entourage–Manny had arrived.
“Mr. Conor, perfect timing! Someone’s crashing your place and talking mad shit. Said some chick could beat you in a race. Claimed you can’t even beat a woman.” Stuart scrambled up and rushed over, spouting nonsense.
In their world, reputation was everything. No one insulted a man like Sigmund and got away with it.
When Manny heard that, his expression turned ice–cold. He asked coldly, “Who the hell’s got the balls to disrespect me?”
“Yeah! Do they even know who Mr. Conor’s backing is?” Stuart pointed straight at Lorelei. “It’s her! That bitch!”
Manny narrowed his eyes to Narissa. “You’re the one talking shit about me?”

Narissa answered coolly, “Yeah. So what?”
Stuart immediately fanned the flames. “See? She even admitted it. Mr. Conor, you can’t let her walk after this.”
“You’ve definitely got my attention now, girl,” Manny said with a chuckle. “So tell me how do you wanna die?”
“This has nothing to do with her,” Jaylen suddenly yelled, breaking free just enough to shout. “I beat Stuart in a race. If you’ve got a problem, take it up with me.”
Stuart jumped in again. “This punk thinks he’s all that. Said you’re nothing, that he could crush you under his heel like it’s nothing.”
Manny turned to Jaylen. “Oh yeah? Then let’s settle this. If you lose, I’m cutting your hand off.”
Jaylen paled. He knew there was no way out now. He couldn’t drag Narissa into this.
Just as he was about to accept, Narissa’s voice rang out. “I’ll take that bet!”
Everyone froze in shock.
“Narissa, don’t,” Jaylen shouted. “This has nothing to do with you.”
“Shut him up!” Manny barked, pointing at Jaylen while keeping his eyes on Narissa.
Jaylen’s mouth was instantly covered again by Stuart’s men.
Manny squinted. “You seriously wanna bet against me?”
Narissa didn’t answer directly. She said, “Just like you said–if I lose, I lose my hands. Same goes for you.”
“This chick’s insane.” Manny broke into wild laughter.
Everyone around started laughing with him.
“Seriously, does she even know who she’s messing with? Mr. Conor’s the top racer in the country. He’s got international trophies under his belt.”
“She must be suicidal thinking she can beat him.”
“Hey! Dumb bitch, why don’t you just kneel and beg us instead? Maybe we’ll put in a good word for you.”
“Yeah, no joke. You lose those pretty hands of yours, they’re not growing back.”
No one believed Narissa had a chance. To them, she was just a naive girl running her mouth and digging her own grave.
And Manny, confident as ever, didn’t even consider losing a possibility.
“Yeah, just beg already!”
“Lick Mr. Conor’s shoes.”
Amid the roaring laughter and jeers, Narissa took a step forward. Now she was only one meter away from Manny.

Chapter 24
Everyone assumed she’d finally realized what was at stake and was about to kneel.
“Mr. Conor’s pressure is too much for her.”
“Man, I’ve never seen a girl lick shoes before. This is gonna be wild.”
“What’s she waiting for? Hurry up!”
The crowd grew rowdier, voices rising. Then, Manny finally spoke. “I’m a fair man. You want mercy? Here’s your chance.
“Say sorry to me and my men, and lick my shoes. Do that, and maybe I’ll let you and your friends walk out of here.”
Before his smug words had even finished echoing, Narissa stepped forward, raised her hand, and slapped Manny across the face hardly.
The sound cracked through the air like a whip. The force sent Manny stumbling back several steps before he caught himself.
“You-!” Manny was stunned. No woman had ever dared lay hands on him.
Everyone stood frozen, jaws dropping. ‘Does that girl just slap Mr. Conor? Is she insane?’
Tension soared as everyone waited for Manny to explode, maybe even dragged Narissa off to be “taught a lesson.”
“Shut the hell up!” Narissa’s voice suddenly rang out, icy and laced with pure impatience.
She turned to look at Manny, her gaze sharp as a blade. “Just answer me–do you have the guts to race or not?”
Her words hit like a thunderclap. Even someone as arrogant as Manny blinked at the challenge, then grit his teeth. “Fine. You wanna die that bad? I’ll make it happen. Get the cars ready!”
“No! Narissa, don’t race. You need to leave, now.” Jaylen panicked. He knew exactly how dangerous this would be for her.
Jaylen broke free and tried to rush over, but Stuart’s men had him and his friends pinned down again in no time.
Stuart said, “No one’s going anywhere now. The race is on.”
“Pretty girl, go get ready.” Manny reminded Narissa.
“No!” Jaylen shouted, shaking his head at Narissa.
But Narissa ignored him completely. “Give me the keys.” Once she had them, she turned and headed for Jaylen’s car.
