Chapter 37
Jaylen thought, ‘Yeah. Narissa is an amateur. How the hell can she beat a pro? There’s no way we’ll win this.
‘And on the track, the distance between the cars stays exactly the same.‘
Just as Jaylen, like everyone else, started thinking Narissa didn’t stand a chance, something clicked in his mind.
Something was off. Manny’s speed wasn’t even steady–he kept accelerating and decelerating.
With that inconsistency, Narissa shouldn’t have been able to maintain a constant distance. Unless… she was doing it on purpose.
Almost as if confirming his suspicion, Narissa’s car, which had been running steady the whole time, suddenly picked up speed in the third lap.
The roar of the engine grew louder, sharper. Sitting behind the wheel, Narissa had just one hand on the steering wheel, a slight, confident smirk tugging at her lips–like nothing in the world could touch her.
Right at that moment, her car happened to speed past Jaylen and the others. Through the windshield, Jaylen clearly caught a glimpse of her calm, unshaken smile.
His heart skipped a beat. Jaylen had been racing long enough to know his own skill. He wasn’t afraid to go head–to–head with
anyone.
But Narissa… that calmness, that confidence as she faced off against a top–tier racer–not only was she smiling, she was driving one–handed.
She didn’t look like she was in a race at all. It was like someone leisurely strolling through a garden under the moonlight.
Jaylen wondered, ‘Has she already given up? Or is she completely in control?
Gilbert exclaimed, “Wait–did I just see Narissa smile?”
Another one added, “She… she’s driving with one hand.”
Hearing this, Stuart’s gang jumped at the chance to mock again.
“What, already preparing to lose your hands?”

“Didn’t I tell you? Women are useless at this. Coming here just to show off–she’s asking for it.”
Gilbert leaned in and whispered to Jaylen, “Do you think she’s actually got this? I mean, driving with one hand? That’s crazy.”
Jaylen didn’t have the answer. But deep down, he was praying she’d win. Because if not…
“Wait a sec–am I seeing things? Did Narissa’s car just take the lead?” Gilbert rubbed his eyes in disbelief.
Everyone turned to the track–sure enough, Narissa’s car had suddenly overtaken the red racecar.
Not only that, there was a noticeable gap between the two.

Chapter 37
“That woman’s a lap behind Mr. Conor. She already lost.” Stuart burst into laughter.
The others quickly caught on. It wasn’t that she passed him–it was that she’d been lapped.
But Jaylen still felt something was off.

On the track, Manny had a split–second lapse in focus when Narissa passed him.
For a moment, even Manny couldn’t tell whether she had actually overtaken him or just fallen behind a full lap.
Still, Manny didn’t dare take it lightly. When Narissa started to accelerate, he sped up too.
Now both cars were locked in a true head–to–head race. A red and a white blur zipped across the track, pushing each other to the edge.
Suddenly, Narissa’s car let out a wild roar, like a furious beast breaking free.
In a flash, it surged forward, leaving the red car behind.
The sight lit a fire inside Manny. Whether or not they were a lap apart, he couldn’t hold back the urge to go all out against this girl.
Narissa glanced at her rearview mirror and saw the red car catching up. Her eyes narrowed, lips curled up–finally, she was getting serious.
Then Narissa coolly placed both hands on the wheel and pulled off a sharp, precise turn.
“She’s overtaking in a curve,” someone shouted.
“No–wait, it’s not just a curve pass. She just pulled off a weight transfer too,” another one said.
