Chapter 56
Amanda looked at Cressida in confusion.
Cressida said, “She admitted it herself in front of everyone that she hid for three days and didn’t join the training at all.
“And that’s not all. She even spent three comfortable days on the island, without sharing any of our hardships.”
After saying all this, Cressida waited for her family to start lecturing Narissa.
But instead, Amanda grabbed Narissa’s hand, her face full of pride and relief.
She said, “Narissa, you really are so clever. You did great this time. Next time, if there’s any danger, make sure you put your safety first, okay?”
Hector said, “That’s right. Hiding was definitely the smartest thing to do. You don’t know how to fight, and your mom and I were worried sick that something might happen to you.
“Who would’ve thought our girl was this sharp?”
“Mom, Dad, she’s making the Everton family look bad! Why are you even praising her for that?” Cressida’s voice was sharp with frustration.
‘Seriously, how can they just let this slide? Cressida thought. She was so angry that she nearly snapped her fork in half.
Dario slammed his fork down on the table.
He barked, “You hid just to get out of special training? If this were a battlefield, that would make you a deserter.
“Everyone in the Everton family has a backbone of steel. How did we end up with a cowardly, scheming disgrace like you?”
Dario had served in the military when he was young, and he was a stickler for discipline. Hearing about Narissa’s actions, he couldn’t accept it.
Seeing that Dario clearly didn’t like her, Narissa couldn’t be bothered to explain. She just grabbed a chicken drumstick, looking bored out of her mind as she took a bite and got up.
“I’m tired. I’m going upstairs to rest,” she said.
“Look at her attitude. That unruly girl has no sense of propriety!” Dario was still grumbling.
Hector and Amanda could only do their best to placate him.
Cressida, on the other hand, just couldn’t accept it.
Cressida thought bitterly, ‘Narissa gets to do whatever she wants at home. She doesn’t even give a damn about Grandpa.
‘I have to tiptoe around every single day.
‘How is that fair?‘
Just as Cressida was about to head upstairs to confront Narissa, the supervisor and the signal jamming specialist had already

At that very moment, the principal was holding a confidential meeting at the school.
When the two of them reported that a powerful, mysterious girl had shown up on the island, the school’s higher–ups totally lost it.
The principal said, “Are you sure that she beat a wild tiger all by herself? And then she took out over a dozen of our top instructors with her bare hands?”
He was so shocked he could barely speak.
“Yes, it’s absolutely true!” the supervisor swore.
The specialist chimed in with his suspicions, “Not only that, but I suspect this girl is the mysterious expert who broke through my signal jamming. Her tech skills have to be some of the best in the whole country!”
The principal got so worked up, he almost had a heart attack right then and there.
Good thing someone there knew first aid, or he might not have made it.
– “Start investigating. We have to find this person. She might just be our ticket to beating Lunaris Academy this time!” the
principal shouted, urgency in his voice.
The principal was truly visionary.
“Principal, she might not even be one of our students,” the supervisor said timidly.
The principal shot him a sharp look.

He said, “How could a genius like that possibly be one of our trainees? Look into anyone who wasn’t part of our team. See if any boats came near or docked at the island during that time.”
He thought, ‘Even if I lined up every teacher at this school, none of them could hold a candle to this genius girl.
‘How could a talent like that possibly be a student at Regality Academy?
‘But once I find her, I am going to do whatever it takes to bring her into Regality Academy.‘
Only ten days were left before the combat competition, and everyone had been pushed to their limits, both physically and mentally.
The supervisor decided to give everyone ten days off to go home and recover.
