Chapter 62

“Narissa, see anything you like? This king crab looks really good. Want to try one?” Amanda asked, pointing at the crab scuttling around in the tank.

Narissa wasn’t really interested in these things, but seeing how much Amanda cared, she just went along with it. “I like it,” she replied.

“Great!” Amanda beamed.

Just as Amanda was about to order all the most expensive and delicious dishes for Narissa, a group of people walked into the

restaurant.

The woman in the lead deliberately lifted her hand, flaunting a massive 20–carat diamond ring as she swept her hair back.

She said, “So this is that legendary, out–of–this–world high–end restaurant everyone keeps bragging about? And it’s just a buffet?

“This place is such a mess. It doesn’t even come close to matching my standards.”

Even though she wasn’t speaking loudly, her words carried clearly through the restaurant.

Most of the people who could afford to dine there were wealthy.

Being suddenly looked down upon made them feel uncomfortable.

When the woman noticed everyone staring at her, she lifted her chin with pride, as if she wanted to rub all her bling right in

their faces.

She was practically flaunting herself, making sure no one missed just how luxurious she was decked out.

“What are you all gawking at? Bunch of uncultured peasants. I bet you’ve never even laid eyes on this much bling before!” she sneered, then strutted off with her entourage to get food.

Just then, she caught sight of Amanda, who was picking out a king crab for Narissa.

“Well, if it isn’t Amanda? Long time no see!” The woman strode right up to Amanda, reaching out her hand–making sure Amanda got a good look at that giant diamond on her finger.

Seeing this, Cressida quickly moved to Amanda’s side, standing protectively by her.

She was clearly wary of the newcomer.

Narissa, still trying to figure out what was going on, decided to stay out of it for now.

“Yeah, it’s been a while. Do you need something? If not, I’m busy picking out food for my daughter,” Amanda replied, her smile polite but her eyes cold.

She made no move to shake the woman’s hand, making it obvious she wasn’t a fan.

Bur the woman was completely oblivious to the snub, instead squeezing right up next to Amanda and pushing Cressida out of the way.

Chapter 62

She hooked her arm through Amanda’s and said, “So, what brings you here? Did you come with your husband and children?

“Oh, me too! Ever since I married my husband, he won’t let me lift a finger. I just get to sit around and be a pampered housewife all day.

“Like this time–I kept telling him I didn’t want to come, but he insisted on chartering a private jet to fly our whole family here for a vacation.

“It’s so annoying how he always makes decisions without asking me.”

After bragging about her husband, she leaned in closer and whispered to Amanda, “Amanda, your husband must be even better than mine, right?”

Amanda’s face fell, making it clear she had no interest in talking to her.

But the woman just wouldn’t let up.

She sneered, “Why so quiet? Is your husband not treating you right or something? Well, I guess it’s no surprise.

“He’s just from an average elite family in Sinney City. Bet he can’t give you the kind of life you really want.

“Not like my husband. He’s the third richest man in all of Primaland.

“Do you even get what that means? Even ten Everton families together couldn’t match his fortune.”

As she finished, she made a show of waving all her gold and diamonds right in Amanda’s face.

She bragged, “Just look at this dress. It’s personally tailored for me by a world–famous designer.

“And this necklace? It used to belong to the princess of Descentix. It’s worth tens of millions.”

As she kept going on and on about how much her bling was worth, Amanda was clearly losing her patience. She was ready to take her daughters and leave.

But the woman wasn’t about to let her escape that easily. She blocked Amanda’s way again, refusing to let her leave.

She said, “Amanda, don’t go. I’m not finished yet. Are these your daughters? Wow, they look so average!

“What kind of education do they have? Just looking at them, I can tell it’s nothing impressive.
