Chapter 69
The figure stepped into the building while dragging something heavy along the floor behind her.
In that instant, Beatrice almost thought she was staring at a demon straight out of hell.
“Who are you?” Beatrice’s hand trembled as she fumbled for the light switch on the wall.
Before she could even react, a dagger whizzed through the air and nailed the light switch dead center.
Electricity crackled and jumped, sparks flying everywhere with a loud, angry sizzle.
Beatrice was so terrified she dropped to the floor in a heap.
“You are…” Beatrice’s eyes went wide as she realized who it was.
She thought, “Isn’t this the girl who exposed the Harrington family’s secrets today? She is Amanda’s daughter.
‘Everyone said she was supposed to be a worthless nobody.
Narissa tossed the half–dead mercenary right at Beatrice’s feet, a wickedly amused smile on her face.
She said, “So, you’ve got the guts to hire a hitman, but not the brains to figure out who you’re messing with? Seriously?”
Beatrice swallowed hard. “You better not do anything crazy. You know who’s backing me. If you dare lay a finger on me, Solomon will never let you go.”
“Please, you’re just a mistress. Do you really think you’re hot stuff?” Narissa scoffed.
“What did you just say? Are you looking to die or something?” Beatrice snapped, her voice trembling with anger.
Narissa let out a cold laugh, and in the next second, right in front of Beatrice, she lifted the mercenary’s leg and snapped it. with a sickening crack.
The mercenary’s scream echoed through the room.
The sound of bone shattering, mixed with his agonized howls, was like a twisted anthem straight from hell.
Beatrice was so terrified she dropped to the floor on the spot.
Narissa thought, ‘Does Beatrice really think it is over? Not a chance!
Right in front of Beatrice, Narissa twisted the mercenary’s body up like a pretzel, contorting him into a mangled heap.
Every bone in his arms and legs was shattered, but he was still alive.
Beatrice had seen a lot in her life, but even she was so terrified by this brutal display that she nearly wet herself right then and there.
‘There’s no way she’s just some ordinary girl. She’s a freaking demon!‘ Beatrice thought.
“Trash,” Narissa sneered. She pinched her nose with her hand, looking utterly disgusted.

Chapter 69
Beatrice was so scared out of her mind that she didn’t even care how pathetic she looked. She just sat there, shaking like a leaf.
As Narissa stepped closer, Beatrice panicked and threw both arms up to cover her face.
She said, “Don’t come any closer.”
“If you’re so scared of dying, then don’t you ever mess with anyone from the Everton family again. Or I’ll wipe your whole family off the face of the earth!” Narissa’s voice was cold and deadly serious.
“I won’t dare ever again…” Beatrice stammered, her voice trembling with fear.
Narissa instantly reined in her terrifying presence, straightened her clothes, and gave Beatrice a deceptively sweet smile.
She said, “Tomorrow, pack your things and get the hell out.”
With that threat hanging in the air, Narissa turned on her heel and strode away.
At that moment, both the mercenary and Beatrice let out a simultaneous sigh of relief.
They both thought they were going to live.
Once the danger was over, Beatrice immediately started grilling the mercenary.
She asked, “You’re the mercenary who took my money? Didn’t he say you were some famous killer–for–hire on the international rankings?
“How could you not even take out a little girl? Are you a fraud or something?”
The mercenary, barely clinging to life, was so pissed he snapped back, “I should be the one yelling at you! Why the hell didn’t you warn me there was a big shot here
“Just look at me. She broke every bone in my body. If she hadn’t decided to let me live for her own amusement, I’d be a corpse already.
“Taking this job from you was the worst decision I’ve ever made.”
“She’s just a cleaner, and just a teenager at that. How tough could she possibly be? You’re so useless. I’m requesting a refund.” Beatrice didn’t buy a word the mercenary said.
The mercenary was so mad he could practically cough up blood.
He said, “Cleaner? Are you kidding me? She’s gotta be some freakishly big shot in disguise. Her skills are way above mine. Hell, she might even be on par with Woody Smart, the world’s number one mercenary.
“Wait, is she actually Joseph?”
The more he talked, the more terrified he got.
By the end, he was rambling like a lunatic.
Beatrice wasn’t stupid. She could tell the fear in the mercenary’s eyes was real.
