My eyes gazed around the room as I took in my surroundings. I was in a prison–like room. Cold concrete floors and bars. Bound to the floor with chains.
This feels oddly cliché. I thought to myself
“Aww, Sleeping Beauty is awake.” Said an all too familiar voice.

Ah yes, continuing with the clichés now are we?
“Crystal,” | spat.
Let me introduce Crystal, she was my best friend from birth to about freshman year. We were born on the same day, January 16, only a minute apart. We were inseparable, the sisters of the Alpha and Beta. She even stuck by me while I was being bullied, even tried to get them to stop.
However, she left sophomore year when she found her mate. Blake Martin. Self–appointed “King of the Rogues“. They found each other when his “pack” attacked ours. He died a few months later on a second attack on our pack, comes with the territory of being a rogue
I sat up and took in her appearance. She looked essentially the same as she did before she left. Same bleach blonde hair. Same blue–grey eyes. That’s actually how she was named, in the right light they can look Ele diamonds. However, now they seemed to have lost their shine.
She spoke again, “Your very correct, little Sapphire,”
1 growled, pulling against the chains, “Why am There?”
“Tsk, Tsk, Tsk, you don’t remember anything do you?” She cocked her head to the side.
I growled yet again, “What do I need to remember?”
“Your mate killed Blake. I’ve had scouts watching the pack’s every move. I was going to take Courtney, until you showed up. I never knew you were his true mate.” She smirked, “Which makes this all that much better, I take you. He goes crazy trying to find you. He’s vulnerable. I kill him. We’re even.”
“My mate,” I spat back in the same tone, “is also your brother.”
“Details, detalls. He lost that title when he killed Blake.”
“It’s his fault,” she interrupted me with a growl, “I mean, if I remember right, Cameron was willing to let them join the pack. He declined. Then Cameron let you all leave with your lives.” I paused, “It was your idiot mate who decided to attack again.”
She growled at me again before two men walked in the door, needle in hand
“Perfect timing,” she smiled.
1 backed up as far as the chains would let me, “Who are you?“”
“They are the men who have kept you knocked out for the last two days. Well, not them, the needle in their hand has.”
A plan quickly formed in my head. If I could get them to wait just a bit longer, I could send a message to Chase.
“You know, Crystal, we should catch up, it has been, what? 4 years? You should give me the short instead of them, you know, to catch up.” I said, sweetly.
She always was gullible, “You’re right Sapphire, Jordan, wolfsbane,” she said, snapping her fingers and they handed her the needle before bowing their heads and leaving the room!
I could already feel my wolf coming back. “So, how’s being “Queen of the Rouger” treating you?” I asked
She sat down, goddess she’s dumb, “Really good actually, all the rouges are like my slaves. I wish Blake were here, ruling with me. It’s so lonely.” She looked sad.
bet,” I responded, “Not having amate is pretty lonely.”
She nodded before there was a small knock on the door. I took the opportunity to reach out to my wolf.
I’m here.

“Who are you?” She asked, cocking her head to the side.
“My name is Sapphire. What’s yours?” I said.
“Morgan Sapphire Martin.” She said, proudly.
“That’s a very pretty name,” I said, shocked that Crystal made her middle name Sapphire
She blushed. “Thank you”
“Time for dinner honey,” Crystal said, ushering her and her daughter out of the room.
“I found out I was pregnant with Morgan a few weeks after Blake was killed.”
I nodded in understanding. “You named her after me?”
She looked down at the ground, kicking some imaginary dust, “Yeah.”
“Why?”
She shrugged, “We promised, I never held a grudge against you. I couldn’t break that promise.” She looked at saw the needle on the table again.
“Sorry,” She said, entering my cage to give me the shot and the familiar darkness filled my vision once again.

Sapphire’s POV
Two weeks.
I’ve been here for two weeks.

Crystal’s face held fear as she entered the room with her daughter. She grabbed a key off the wall and began unlocking my chains.
I looked up at her confused.
“I need you to protect Morgan, I know I wasn’t always the nicest to you but think of all the times I saved you, I need Morgan to stay alive. Can you do that for me?” She finished with tears cascading down her cheeks.
I nodded. In my time here I had come to be pretty close with Morgan. She was an innocent bystander, oblivious to the fact that the pack her mother ran

She turned down to her daughter. “Morgan, mommy’s in trouble, I need you to stay with Sapphire. No matter what anyone says stay with Sapphire, she’ll keep you safe. 1 love you.” She said, wrapping her in a hug and kissing her forehead.

“What?” Cameron said, looking at me like I grew a second head
1 sighed, “Remember when Crystal left with Blake and he attacked us? Well before he attacked, he made sure he had an heir to his throne. This is that heir, Morgan Martin, Crystal explained all of this when she kidnapped me. She let me go, wanting Morgan to be safe.”
He stood there, mouth opening and closing like a fish. I carried Morgan up to my room and laid her on my bed and shut the door as I left the room.
“Well, hello there.” I said.
Instead of answering, he turned around to walk away.
Being with Crystal helped me realize something
I had to forgive him.
Now hear me out. After seeing Crystal so sad without her mate, I realized that no matter what he did before, he is still my mate. He’s the only one I am going to get, so any and all time I have with him is precious. This led to my next move.
I grabbed his wrist and the second he turned around 1 kissed him.
JI, voluntarily, pressed my lips against his. He froze for a split second before matching my movements. My eyes slowly fluttered shut once he relaxed into the kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck, hands running through his hair. His hands went to my waist, pulling me closer. His tongue grazed across my bottom lip, asking for entrance; 1 didn’t grant him that satisfaction. He growled lowly and squeezed my butt, making me gasp. He took that chance to plunge his tongue into my mouth, running it along mine. I shivered and moaned softly. I pulled away for a breath of air. He growled at the loss of contact.
That didn’t last long
Once I turned from the door, I was pressed up against it. His mouth on mine again. He gripped under my thighs, so I jumped up and wrapped my legs around his mid–section, gasping when I felt his member press against me
Soon enough, we were moving. Before I could process what was happening, I was laying on a bed and guessing by the scent, it’s Cameron’s. But that was the least of my worries, as I was stripped of my light purple tank top that said, “Nerd and Proud” across it, leaving me in a black sports bra and matching black spandex. Cameron pulled away, looking at my body, lust and love being the only emotions in his gaze.
“Beautiful.” He said, kissing the waistband of the spandex, making his way up, leaving kisses the whole way. He when he reached my neck he started going off to the side, where my shoulder and neck meet, where he would mark me. He started kissing the area, sucking on the soft skin, his teeth grazing it every now and again. 1 moned, not quietly. He smiled against my skin and started kissing up my neck, to my lips.
“Cameron?” I said.
He pulled away.
I smirked,
“Yeah?”
He looked at me shocked before quickly covering it with a smirk, “Gladly,”
He dipped back down to my neck, teasing the skin, before he hit it. I gasped in pain, which quickly turned to a moan of pleasure. He lapped up the blood before kissing all the way down the front of my body to my bra, he began to pull that off when I stopped him.
“I’m not ready for that Cameron.” I said, pushing his hand away.
“Okay, princess.” He said before lying down next to me on his bed. He laid on his back, hands behind his head. I curled up next to him, my head on his shirtless chest, He moved his arm that was closest to me and wrapped it, lazily, around my waist and began drawing invisible circles on my hip as I fell into what was the best sleep I have ever had.
Cameron’s POV
I woke up at 8 in the morning to Sapphire curled into my chest, hair sprawled across my chest. I still couldn’t believe she let me mark her last night.
I shook her shoulder, trying to wake her up

tried a different approach, I placed butterfly like kisses all the way from her shoulder to her nose, kissing everywhere on her face, except her lips. She groaned, finally coming awake.
“Tease.” She said, getting up. She started stretching, realizing she was only in a bra and spandex, she blushed. She went to the other side of the bed and grabbed my shirt before shrugging and pulling it over her head.
