The whole room erupted in shock. Mr. Windsor’s eyes went wide the moment he saw clearly the man in the sharp suit.]
“You’re… Howard?!“]]
The man smiled slightly. “Long time no see, big bro. Everything good with you?“]
Mr. Windsor nodded enthusiastically. “Can’t complain! Looking good yourself!“]
From their conversation, everyone finally understood.
The man standing before them was adopted by Ace’s grandfather, born on the same day as Ace, but technically his uncle by family hierarchy.
When Ace heard I was marrying his uncle, he completely lost it.[]
He dragged me aside and whispered:
“Nora, you don’t have to marry him just to piss me off. He’s an outsider to the Windsor family–I’m the real heir![] “тога,

I shook off his hand in disgust.

I laughed. “Maybe worry about making it through tonight alive first, genius.”
Out of sympathy for Mrs. Windsor, I gave her one last piece of advice.[]
“Mrs. Windsor, you’re still in your prime. Maybe you and your husband should try for another kid. And next time maybe do some background checks on the bride.”
With that, I gave Ace one final look like he was already dead.
Noelle couldn’t hold back any longer and blocked my path.[]
“Sister, stop with the hints that I can’t save Ace! You wanna bet? If I keep Ace alive past his 25th birthday, you get on your knees and apologize to me and our parents, then get your ass out of this city forever!“] .
I stopped in my tracks. “You’re on. Let’s see who saves their man first.“]
After the wedding ceremony, everyone chose to stay at the hotel to wait for the results of our bet.[]

I tossed my phone aside and wrapped my arms around Howard’s neck.[]
“Baby… someone’s threatening me. What are you gonna do about it?“]
