My father looked down at him, his eyes showing no emotion, only disappointment.[]
Elliot was quickly abandoned by the Gray family.[]

It was Isla.
She rushed to Elliot’s bedside in a few steps and grabbed his hand.[]

Elliot was pulled up by her suddenly, with a trace of disbelief.[]

The moment he completed the transfer, Elliot slumped in his chair in front of the computer and breathed a long sigh of relief, a long–lost smile appearing on his face.
He seemed to already see Gray Group rising from the dead, with Isla returning with the funds to restore his empire.
Then, silence.
One day, two days… a week passed.[]
Isla had vanished without a trace.
Elliot frantically dialed her old number – all were out of service.[]
Elliot felt panic, and a metallic taste rose in his throat.
