Chapter 4
While we were talking. Henry noticed the bracelet on my wrist.[]
He immediately grabbed my hand.
“Vivian, I already told you–I’m marrying Sekar. Why are you still wearing that bracelet? Take it off and give it to Sekar.“]
“Stop clinging to me. It’s disgusting.”
As Henry reached to yank off my bracelet, I pulled away forcefully, protecting it.]]
“Don’t flatter yourself, Henry. It’s not yours anymore–it’s your brother’s promise token. Nobody wants to cling to you.“]
Sekar sneered mockingly. “I hate you New York heiresses the most, always fake smiling and playing hypocritical games. You pretend not to care about Henry, but
kingly “I hate you’re hoarding the Carter family bracelet and won’t give it back to him?”
She smiled smugly, looking at me with contempt.]
“Face reality, Vivian–Henry will never marry someone like you.“]]
“You’re just a businessman’s daughter. I’m different–I’m descended from Indonesian royalty. I’ll help Henry become a global tycoon. What can you offer?“]
“My father is a king. If anyone bullies me, it will cause an international incident. Who do you think the Carter family will choose?“]
I almost burst out laughing at her delusions.
Indonesian princess?
I’ve never seen a royal member so desperately flaunt her bloodline.
Real royalty avoids drawing attention–they don’t show off their titles like discount brands.
And her dress and behavior… no manners, no respect.[]
Whatever palace she claims to be from, she definitely skipped finishing school.
Only an idiot like Henry would believe her story.
When Henry saw me refuse to hand over the bracelet, he flew into a rage.
“Vivian, what’s your attitude?
“In Indonesia, people like you would be required to kneel before Sekar. You have no respect whatsoever.“[]
“Don’t think dragging my brother into this will change anything. He might be powerful, but he can’t control my life.”
“Apologize to Sekar right now and hand over the bracelet, or don’t blame me for getting physical.“[]
With that, Henry lunged forward again to snatch my sapphire bracelet.[]
“Henry, you’re insane. Let go! This sapphire bracelet is from your brother.”
Anne grabbed Henry’s arm.
“Henry, stop it! This bracelet really is Julian’s gift to Vivian. If you keep acting crazy, don’t blame me when he knocks you unconscious.”
But Henry didn’t stop.
He gripped my arm tightly, yanking at the bracelet relentlessly.
Pain shot through my skin.[]
This was Julian’s gift.

I wasn’t about to let Henry touch it.
I clenched my hand tight, resisting with all my strength.]
Henry gritted his teeth and tried even harder–as if proving his devotion to Sekar.[]
My wrist turned red and swollen.[]
Anne couldn’t pull Henry away. She pounded on him angrily and shouted to the servants outside.
“Everyone get in here and stop Henry!”
Two servants rushed forward, trying to drag Henry away.]]
Sekar watched it all with a cold sneer.
er.]
“Henry, if Vivian won’t break the engagement, let’s just break up. I won’t fight with a spoiled heiress over a man.”
“I’m a royal princess. I don’t need to compete with commoners. I gave you a chance because I believed in you, but maybe I was wrong.“[]
Ranicked, Henry suddenly let go–then suddenly–slapped me across the face.]]
“Vivian, I thought you were a good girl. Out of respect for our past, I was even willing to keep you around later, but I never expected you to be so petty, narrow–minded, and selfish.“]]
“You’ve really disappointed me. The way you are now, I could never take care of you again. Go marry whatever loser you want.‘
t.“)
I staggered backward and crashed into the edge of the coffee table.]
My head hit the corner, and warm blood immediately gushed out.
Everyone fell silent.
Henry froze, struggling to speak
“Vivian, if you hadn’t refused to give back… I… I…“[]
“BANG.”
Suddenly, a fist slammed into Henry’s jaw from the side.
He staggered backward, crashed into a chair, and fell to the floor.]
Julian stood there, fury blazing in his eyes.[]
“Bro, when did you get back? Why did you hit me?“]
Julian didn’t answer.]]
He slowly walked forward, his icy gaze fixed on Henry.
He lifted his leg and kicked Henry’s knee, forcing him to kneel before me.]
“You dared to lay a hand on my fiancée.”
