Chapter 29 Don’t Look
“Ten minutes,” Sarah said coldly. “If I don’t check in with my friend by then, she’ll call the police.”
“Ten minutes?” Henry’s greasy hand hovered near his belt, lips curling into a sick smile. “Plenty.”
Sarah’s heart plummeted.

As he slowly unbuckled his belt, her breath hitched and her limbs began to tremble. She took one step back- then another–but two women on either side of the room grabbed her arms and shoved her down against the table.
Clink.
The metallic buckle hit the floor.
Henry’s predatory grin widened as he approached. Sarah’s tears slid down, silent and hot.
Someone… please. Save me.
The door burst open with a deafening crash.
The two women flinched and let go instantly.
In the doorway stood a tall man, his silhouette cut sharp against the light–broad–shouldered, slender- waisted, and radiating fury.
Sarah’s breath caught in her chest.
She was saved.
In the next second, Grayson stormed forward and yanked her into his arms.
“Don’t be scared.”
His voice hit her ears, low and steady, and her heart dropped back into her chest.
Sarah tried to pull away, but Grayson held her head firmly against his chest.
“Don’t look.”
Before she could react, his leg lifted–and he kicked.
Henry flew across the room.
The moment he got a good look at who had attacked him, the color drained from his face.
“Mr… Mr. Grayson…”
There was only one man in Astrovia Henry feared–Grayson.
A year ago, when Henry’s head injury hadn’t even healed, Grayson had shown up and beaten him to a pulp. Then, just to add salt to the wound, he’d stolen two major projects from Simone Corp.
“Henry,” Grayson said coldly, stepping over to him. “Astrovia doesn’t have room for you anymore.”
His eyes were sharp as a blade. “You can crawl out on your own, or I can break your legs and drag you.”

“I… I… it’s not what you think, Mr. Grayson. I can explain!”

Henry’s words stumbled out. He noticed how tightly Grayson was holding Sarah–and realized with a chill that both of their previous run–ins… had involved her.
Could it be-
A toxic realization spread across Henry’s face like poison.
Grayson ignored him. Holding Sarah close, he turned toward the door.
“I’ve already submitted evidence of your crimes to the police,” he said flatly. “This time, I’ll be watching personally.”
Simone Corp had always covered Henry’s filth.
But not this time.
Grayson escorted Sarah out of the private room, completely ignoring Henry’s pitiful cries behind them.
Outside the Ocean Club, he placed Sarah gently into the car.
One glance at her bruised face and disheveled hair, and fury sparked in his eyes again.
But he said nothing. He simply got into the driver’s seat and took her straight to the hospital.
Back in the sterile white corridor, Sarah slowly began to feel grounded again.
When she saw the hospital entrance, her lips pulled into a bitter smile.
Third time now… Grayson’s brought me here three times.
“Thank you, Mr. Grayson, for saving me. I can see the doctor myself–no need to trouble you.”
But the moment she moved, Grayson’s hand clamped around her wrist.
He didn’t speak.
He just held her tightly and led her in.
Silence.
He stayed silent through the whole check–up.
Only then did Sarah begin to realize–he was angry.
But angry… about what?
She didn’t understand.
Thankfully, her injuries weren’t serious–just some swelling and minor scalp damage from having her hair pulled.
The doctor applied ointment and gave simple instructions: “It’s a mild scalp tear. Clean it each night before bed. Should heal up in a few days.”
When they left the hospital, Grayson took her home.

Together, they exited the car. Together, they rode the elevator. It was oddly domestic–like a husband and wife returning home after a long night.
At her door, Sarah spoke first.
“My phone’s broken. I’ll buy a new one tomorrow and transfer you the money for today.”
Grayson’s voice was cool. “Do I look like I care about a hundred bucks?”
Finally–finally–he spoke, and Sarah felt her heart unclench.
His silence had been making her uneasy.
She smiled faintly. “Then thank you, Mr. Grayson. If there’s ever anything I can do for you, I’ll repay you however I can.”
Grayson’s gaze swept over her, tone flat: “Open the door.”
Startled, Sarah instinctively unlocked her door.
