Chapter 21
After Christmas, Grace sent her parents on the plane back to their home
country.
Her vacation also came to an end.
Time slipped away in the repetitive days.
The green leaves had already covered the branches, and the weather had become increasingly hot.
Grace was feeling restless and didn’t want to work, so she picked up her phone to pass the time.
Another leader, Bella, knocked on the door of her office.
“Just touched the fish and you came to catch it yourself?” Half–jokingly, the person invited them in.
“Mary, a dark horse emerged in this design competition. All major companies are preparing to recruit her, and headquarters hopes that we can sign her,” he said while placing the documents on her desk.
Grace glanced down and Natalie’s name suddenly caught her eye.
She squinted her eyes.
“What, do I know you?”
“Old acquaintance.”
“That’s easy then, I’ll leave this matter to you,” Bella said, giving her no

room for any regrets, and then she turned around and left.
Grace called out a few times behind her, but to no avail.
Rubbing my forehead, I forced a bitter smile.

The world was truly magical, as if it wanted to bring everyone back to where they started, with twists and turns.
Since she agreed to take on the task, she had to follow through with it. Regardless of any personal grievances, Grace has always been someone who separates her personal and professional life. Moreover, the company really needs someone, as long as she is capable enough, Grace won’t do anything unnecessary.
She carefully examined Natalie’s information and her entries for the design competition.
The more she looked, the more shocked she was. Natalie’s approach was unconventional and full of ideas. It was clear she hadn’t been formally trained, but that was exactly what made her work so spirited. Her style was completely different from hers, but just as impressive.
Why didn’t I notice such great talent before, Grace thought.
After reading her work, I was determined to bring her into the company.
Grace checked her contact information and dialed the phone number.
“Hello, may I ask what’s the matter?” Natalie’s voice came from the other
side.
“Hello, I am Grace.”
The person across the room fell silent for a few seconds after hearing that.

“I had already lost touch with Antonio a long time ago.”
“I didn’t come to see you today because of this,” Grace said calmly.
“What was that?”
“I have seen your competition entry, and it was very impressive. Our company would like to invite you to join us. When would it be convenient for you to meet and discuss?”
The air froze for nearly half a minute after the other side finished listening.
“Fortunately, I hadn’t returned to my home country yet. How about tomorrow afternoon? I will send you the time and location.”
After hanging up the phone, since there was nothing else to do, Grace picked up her bag and left work.
When I got back home, I didn’t know where Laurel had taken her daughter to play, but both of them were not at home.
I sat down on the sofa after getting a glass of water, only to realize that I had unknowingly brought Natalie’s work back with me in my bag at some point.
I simply started studying her works and the more I read, the more I liked them.
Perhaps due to her young age, Natalie’s works exuded a sense of innocent charm, which happened to be the missing piece for Grace.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door.
Antonio stood up and opened the door, feeling anxious and uneasy.

“What’s the matter?” Grace reluctantly asked.
Um, I forgot to bring the keys. The locksmith said he’s busy now and can only come in a few hours. Can I wait here for a while?
“No.”
“I knew I could.”
Two voices sounded at the same time, and Antonio had already stepped into the door.
Grace couldn’t deal with this scoundrel, so she closed the door and went
inside.
As soon as Antonio entered the room, he saw Natalie’s information on the table. He thought that Grace had found it because of his search for Natalie, and he felt a little excited in his heart. However, he still opened his mouth to explain.
“I haven’t been in touch with Natalie for a long time, and I have deleted all her contact information completely.”
Grace looked at him with confusion and asked, “What does it have to do with me?”
Antonio paused for a moment, pointing at the documents on the table, and said, “Ah… you weren’t doing this for me…”
“It’s none of your business,” Grace said, and she put away the documents and continued with her work, as if Antonio didn’t exist.
Antonio tried to chat with her, but he realized that Grace completely ignored him, so he awkwardly closed his mouth.
