“Dwayne, why isn’t Dr.Acosta at the hospital today? I asked her to discuss your investment project with the government officials yesterday, but they said Dr. Acosta didn’t go there.”

Dwayne’s brows furrowed. “Why did you ask her to meet them?“]]
“Well, I didn’t have experience, and I was afraid I’d mess up, so I asked Dr. Acosta to go instead, but I didn’t expect…” she cried. “I’m sorry, Dwayne, did I mess it up? I really didn’t mean to.“]]
Dwayne rubbed his nose, his tone softening a bit. “Alright, it’s not your fault. We’ll discuss the project later.“]
He ended the call and raised his eyes. “Are they in the police station now?“[]
Margaret nodded.
He leaned back against the seat. “Go investigate whether they have any criminal record. If they have, don’t let them out.”

Sonia saw her and approached with feigned concern. “Dr. Acosta, why didn’t you go to the dinner last night? The time. Where did you go…“]

Sonia held her swollen cheek, gritted her teeth, and endured it. She showed a pitiful expression. “Dr. Acosta, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Did you get me wrong?”
