Chapter 6 The Streamers Got Burned
Chapter 6 The Streamers Got Burned
Benjamin was still clinging to the hem of my dress, sobbing and trying to beg me for another chance.
Also, at this point, the viewers in the livestream had caught on and started tearing into the channel.
‘So, this woman was the real deal all along?! That sc*mbag looks decent enough, but he’s straight–up disgusting
All that fuss in the beginning–turns out we all just played ourselves.
The streamers fell completely silent, all turning to stare at Jade with enigmatic expressions.

Jade was furious, practically shaking. “Benjamin Steele, have you lost your mind?! Not only did you trick me with a fake certificate, but now you’re here declaring your love for her and groveling at her feet?! What about me? What the hell am I to you?!”
I remained indifferent. Annoyed and cornered. Benjamin shoved her aside and snapped, shouting in desperation. “I can’t divorce her! If I do, everything I’ve worked for over the years will go to waste–don’t you get that?!”
I couldn’t help but laugh. He was never really apologetic. All he cared about was money. Back when he vowed to love only me for life, he’d signed a prenup to prove his loyalty–one that stated if he ever cheated, he’d leave the marriage with nothing. And now, that agreement had become a chain around his own neck.
Jade let out a cold laugh. “Your hard work? If my dad hadn’t constantly thrown business to your pathetic little company, would you have made a single penny? You messed with me today, and now you’re done! Without my dad’s contracts, let’s see how far you get.”
Now Benjamin truly panicked. I was dead set on the divorce, and if he left the marriage with nothing and lost Jade’s support, he’d be completely screwed.
He turned to her and threw himself at her feet again, switching up the act with teary eyes. “Jade, I love you. It’s just… I met you too late. If I’d met you sooner, I never would’ve married her. I’m afraid of losing everything in the divorce because I want to make sure I’ll still be able to give you a good life!”
His excuses were full of holes, but that didn’t matter–some people in love would believe anything.
Jade shot me a smug look, then laughed scornfully. “So what if you leave with nothing? With my dad backing you, you’ll be earning even more in a few years. And anyway, our family doesn’t care about money. My dad makes tens of millions a year. If you marry me, you’ll have plenty of assets at your disposal.”
I laughed inwardly. Tens of millions? That might not even be enough to cover the damages.
But Benjamin’s eyes instantly lit up. He scrambled up off the floor. “Jade, I swear my love for you is real. I’ll divorce her right
now!”
Yet just as he was about to sign the papers, he paused and looked at me. “I’ll walk away with nothing, fine. But the company–I built it from scratch. Every bit of success came from my sleepless nights and effort. All the shares are mine.”
“Sure. Keep them.”
He clearly didn’t expect me to agree so easily. His next complaint got stuck in his throat, and his face twisted in disbelief.
To him, a few million was his entire world. But to me, it meant almost nothing.
Afraid I’d change my mind, Benjamin rushed to sign the divorce papers.
What he didn’t know was that over 80% of his company’s business had come through my connections. Without me, that company was just an empty shell.
“So,” I said, “weren’t you all about punishing mistresses? Now that the truth’s out and Jade is the homewrecker, shouldn’t you all go wreck her place next?”
The Karma Crew exchanged awkward glances. No one said a word.

Jade scoffed. “Are you hearing yourself? You think they’d betray their sponsor?! I paid to be on this stream. You think they’re gonna turn on me?”
That bombshell hit like a grenade. The streamers scrambled to shut down the livestream, but it was too late—the audience had heard everything, and the chat blew up.
‘Wait–wasn’t ‘Karma Crew‘ always claiming to help for free? They charge?!‘
‘It’s true. I asked once. “Helping” costs hundreds of thousands–what regular person can afford that?”
‘Unreal. So, they make money both ways and then whine about needing donations to fight injustice? I want all my gifts back.
‘This is straight–up blood money. They show up without knowing the full story, destroy someone’s house, and cause a miscarriage. Do they think whoever pays is the one in the right?!”
The streamers tried to salvage the mess, rushing to explain.
“Ms. Simmons didn’t know she was the real mistress. She thought she was the victim and came to us with proof. That’s why we helped her!”
“And our fees really aren’t that high. We’re just regular folks, too. Without some funding, how could we keep helping people?”
But the viewers weren’t having it. The comment section was flooded with refund demands.
Realizing the situation was spiraling out of control, the streamers bit the bullet and cut the feed. Panic set in instantly–they were scrambling, dialing everyone they could to do damage control.
As they tried to make a break for it, they were stopped by the police, who had already gathered all the evidence.
“Please cooperate with the investigation.”
