Chapter 10
Since Samuel respected Natalie’s decision, the sense of unease she felt when she saw the comments earlier was gone completely in mere seconds. However, she was still slightly affected by the comments. She clenched her fists and told Samuel about the comments she had seen on the Internet. Natalie wanted to ask Samuel if he was serious or just playing with her feelings.
However, Samuel seemed to have misunderstood Natalie. “Did they call you a sugar baby again? Don’t worry. I’ll have someone delete the comments immediately, and you won’t see them again.”
With that, Samuel took his phone and called his assistant. In less than three minutes, all the comments were removed from the Internet.
Natalie felt touched yet conflicted when she saw how quickly he reacted.
If she were to say that Samuel loved her, he had avoided her question. But if she were to think that he didn’t appreciate her, he had actually gotten someone to deal with the comments immediately.
Natalie looked down to hide the gloom in her gaze.
She wondered what kind of feelings Samuel harbored for her.
That night, Natalie had been tossing and turning because of that. She was surprised that Samuel, who always followed a regular routine, also had difficulty sleeping.
She looked at Samuel, who was also awake beside her, then blinked. She called out softly, “Samuel…”
“Yeah?” Samuel turned to hug her, his voice slightly hoarse, “What’s wrong? You can’t sleep?”
Natalie shook her head: “Nope. Why aren’t you asleep yet?”
Samuel froze, then teased in a deep voice, “Babe, you got me aroused, yet you didn’t help me relieve my desire. How could I sleep then? Hmm?”
As Samuel said that, he gently brushed his fingers against her back before moving his hand down slowly. In an instant, Natalie felt a tingling sensation running through her body.
Blushing, she quickly pushed him away and hid herself under the covers. “I–I’m going to sleep. Relieve it yourself.”
Then, she heard his chuckle from behind and felt her cheeks burning. She immediately ducked her head under the covers.
Samuel didn’t look at her. He simply grabbed his phone from the bedside table and walked toward the bathroom.
He turned on the shower and tapped on his chat with Catherine. The chat was still empty. All the messages Samuel had sent were of no avail.
He furrowed his brows slightly and felt upset for no reason.
Samuel and Catherine had been married for five years, so he knew her pretty well.
Considering Catherine’s character and how much she loved Samuel, she certainly couldn’t take it and would take the initiative to look for him.
If Catherine contacted Samuel, he would tell her the truth and ask her to put up with it for a bit longer. When he got sick of Natalie, he would withdraw the divorce application.
However, reality felt like a tight slap in his face. Not only did Catherine not look for him, but she also didn’t read all his messages.
After that, Samuel called Catherine with a frown. He wanted to ask her what she meant by that, but none of his calls were answered.
He wondered if she refused to answer his calls because she was too devastated over the divorce.
As that thought surfaced in his mind, Samuel smirked unknowingly, and his earlier frustration vanished completely.
In that case, he would just coax her by then.
After all, she loved him to bits, so why would she give him to someone else willingly?
The next few days, Samuel gave Natalie his full attention again momentarily. Natalie had felt insecure before this, but Samuel started expressing his affection toward her again.
Besides, he always brought her with him and refused to be away from her, not even for a moment.
His actions made Natalie think that their relationship was back to how things were before. She got so carried away because of the blissful moments that came so suddenly.
Drunk with joy, she agreed to marry Samuel when he proposed to her.
