Chapter 6 The Confrontation
Elisa hadn’t witnessed what was happening firsthand. She just blurted out what she had planned earlier.
The hall went quiet for a moment as everyone’s eyes shifted between Jayden and me.
I looked at Jayden, clapped my hands, and sneered.
“You both say I’m seriously ill, yet here I am, standing perfectly fine. Maybe you’re the real reason my daughter became like this.”
Jayden panicked on camera, stepped forward, and tried to cover my mouth, but I pushed him away.
He could only glare fiercely at me. “Wynter, Nicole is also my daughter. How can you say such cruel things?”
“Cruel? Aren’t you planning to live with your lover, get rid of Nicole and me, and take over the Schultz Group?”
My eyes cut sharply between him and Elisa.
She trembled, trying to hide behind him, but he stopped her with a glare.
Jayden wanted to argue, but he froze when the video of him and Elisa appeared on the big screen.
It showed them being intimate in the hospital garage at midnight and also in the living room.
Jayden tried to have the video turned off, but was stopped by a reporter’s shocked exclamation.

Turning around, he saw another video of him and Elisa having a passionate moment right next to me.
He panicked.
“These are all fake! Stop taking photos! Wynter, why are you doing this?”
Jayden glared at me with bloodshot eyes, full of rage.
I stood on tiptoe and whispered, “An eye for an eye–I’m just giving you a taste of your own medicine.”
They drugged my food to put me into a deep sleep to disgust me.
Then, they didn’t just fool around beside me but also insulted me for being useless.
If I hadn’t checked the surveillance, I’d never have known I was their toy when I was unconscious.
They’d all treated me like that. If I didn’t fight back now, how could I live up to my second chance?
I sneered, stood up, and called the police to report that someone had harmed my daughter.
After hanging up, I walked to the stage. Tears fell even before I spoke.
“Today was supposed to be a happy day. I didn’t expect family problems to ruin it. From now on, I’ll remove Jayden from all his positions.”
Jayden looked at me in disbelief.
After many years of marriage, he never thought I’d discover his secrets.
He never expected me, who once depended on him, to abandon him so decisively.

Seeing I wasn’t acting out of anger, he rushed to me.
“Wynter, it’s all Elisa’s fault. She seduced me.
“We’ve been together for over 20 years. Can you please forgive me just this once?
“I swear I’ll never see Elisa again. I just want to live peacefully with you and Nicole.”
Jayden didn’t notice the hatred on Elisa’s face as he explained it to me.
She laughed bitterly at his attempt to blame her. Then, she suddenly attacked him.
While hitting him, she shouted, “You jerk! You promised to treat me well once you were rich!
“But what did you do? You kept me as your secret lover for 23 years and now blame me for everything!
“You hypocrite! I should have listened to my parents and left you long ago!”
Nicole clearly saw them fighting. She crawled over quickly, trying to stop them.
But even passing between them didn’t help.
In the end, she just lay on the ground, crying helplessly
The banquet only fell silent after the police and ambulance arrived
