Chapter 5
Now that I looked more closely, Mike was wearing a high–end children’s outfit that hurt my eyes. I could confirm that the clothes were the ones I had specially ordered for Tina from abroad.[]
Tina didn’t like bright, colorful dresses, so I had custom–made gender–neutral clothes for her.[]
At first, I suspected it might be a coincidence, but after finding out that Nancy had stolen from our home, including Tina’s customized clothes, shoes, and the black swan cake, I was certain Mike was Nancy’s grandson.]
Mike was startled by my shout and stepped back, his face pale.[]
At that moment, his mother quickly approached.[]
She was dressed in stylish clothes, and more importantly, the outfit and high heels she wore seemed to be the ones I had ordered recently.[]
Her necklace, earrings, and other jewelry also looked familiar.[]
She sneered at us mother and daughter, saying impatiently, “What are you shouting about? If you scare my son, you’ll regret
it!”
“It’s just kids roughhousing, what’s the big deal?“]
“If you don’t want your daughter to get hurt, don’t bring her to the amusement park. How disgusting, acting so fragile.“]]
She clearly didn’t recognize us. Otherwise, she would’ve turned and run by now, considering her son and she were wearing clothes and jewelry stolen from my house.[]
I didn’t bother responding to her mockery, instead pulling out my phone to call the police.]
Seeing that I was calling the police, she became even more arrogant and contemptuous, shouting, “It’s just kids pushing each other, and you’re calling the police?”
“Who are you trying to scare?“]]
“I’ll be here waiting to see what the police can do to us. I don’t believe they’ll arrest us!“]
A crowd of parents and children gathered to watch.]
She became even more emboldened, addressing the crowd, “Let’s all judge this petty woman.“[]
With her adding fuel to the fire, the crowd started believing her, looking at me with strange expressions.[]
“It’s normal for kids to roughhouse a bit, just scold them and move on. Why call the police?“[]
“Even if the police come, they’ll probably just be helpless in this situation!“]
“What’s the big deal, wasting public resources? This woman must be crazy.“[]
“People like her think the world should revolve around them, not realizing their own worth.“[]

Chapter 3
Ignoring the murmurs around me, I kept my expression calm and didn’t respond.[]
Meanwhile, Mike’s mother looked even more contemptuous and was about to say something when her phone rang.[]
She looked at the caller ID and smiled, answering in a sweet voice, “Honey, Mike and I are being bullied here at the amusement park, you need to come…“[]
Before she could finish, her face changed suddenly, and she gasped, “What? My mom was taken to the police station?”
Her voice wasn’t quiet, and many of the people around us overheard, all looking at her in confusion.[]
I didn’t know what her husband had said to her on the phone, but her face turned ugly as she quickly hung up, grabbed Mike, and rushed out of the amusement park.
I stayed with Tina, waiting for the police to arrive. After explaining the situation to the officers, their expressions immediately changed.
After all, the high–end clothing, shoes, and jewelry that Mike and his mother were wearing were worth quite a bit.[]
If they truly stole those items from my house, this wasn’t just a small case anymore.]]
Although I didn’t know where Mike’s family lived, the police would certainly be able to track them down quickly.]
I took Tina and left the amusement park, heading to the police station.[]
Nancy’s abuse of Tina and the theft from our home were backed by solid evidence. I had already given the police a copy of the surveillance footage. Even if Brandon tried to convince them to let Nancy off the hook, it wouldn’t matter.]
When I called the police, I made it clear that there was no room for reconciliation in this matter. Nancy had to go to prison.]
Brandon called me several times, but I didn’t answer.[]
