Chapter 7
Looking at this whole scene, I suddenly laughed.[]
Originally I thought, if Nicholas was so damn sure Vanessa was carrying his baby, then whatever–let them have at it.[]
This marriage was a transaction from the start–I should have walked away long ago.[]
But those three words “leave with nothing” completely triggered my fury.[]
“Nicholas,” I said coldly, “are you sure you want me to leave with nothing?”[]
“Absolutely!” Nicholas held Vanessa’s waist tighter. “All these years you’ve lived off our family, and now you want a piece of our assets? Dream on!“]]
Vanessa smugly added: “Exactly! A barren woman like you has the nerve to ask for money!“[]
