Chapter 12 Will You Feed Me?
Nolan thought, “Shirlene is crazy today. How dare she talk to
me like that? Sure enough, she’s just an ill–bred bitch. She is not
match for Daisy, who is so gentle and sweet.
“I wouldn’t have even talked to Shirlene if it weren’t for Daisy at
all.”
As he was thinking, his phone rang. Figuring that it was
Shirlene, he looked complacent. He thought, “So what if she was
arrogant earlier? She has to apologize to me now, still.”
He took his phone slowly on purpose, wanting to make Shirlene
wait. Yet he was stunned when he saw the caller ID.
It was Daisy.
It wasn’t Shirlene.
Nolan frowned, feeling a bit disappointed, and pressed the
button to answer.
“Hello, Nolan,” Daisy said coquettishly.
“Daisy” he said gently. He sounded like a different person when
he was talking to Shirlene.

“Did you get ahold of Shirlene, Nolan? Is she still mad at me?”
Daisy sounded tentative and sad, making Nolan feel pitiful for
her.
“I really had to leave in advance that day because of something
urgent. I didn’t expect… I wanted to apologize to her myself, yet I
was afraid she wouldn’t be happy to see me.”
Nolan’s pitifulness for her grew even stronger, and so did his
disgust for Shirlene.
“Daisy, don’t worry. I’ll make sure Shirlene comes to take you
and Molly home herself.”
“Thanks, Nolan,” Daisy said sweetly with a smile. “I’ll wait for
your good news then.”
“OK,” Nolan said at once, couldn’t stop grinning.
Little did he know that after Daisy hung up the phone, there
was a look of disdain and annoyance on her face.
“Well?” Seeing that she had hung up the phone, Molly quickly
asked.
Daisy snorted disdainfully, “Nolan is such a loser. He can’t even
handle Shirlene. What’s the use of him?”

Molly looked surprised. “How come? Hasn’t Shirlene always
listened to him? She loves him so much that she is even willing
to divorce Sebastian for him. How come she doesn’t listen to
him?”
“She loves Nolan? Not necessarily…” Daisy’s words came out of
the blue. Molly was puzzled, yet Daisy wasn’t planning on
elaborating on her words.
Daisy felt strange, and something flashed through her mind.
.ட
“Mom, don’t you think Shirlene has been a different person
these days?”
Molly pondered for a while and nodded. “She was so stupid
before, and suddenly, she’s smart. Could she know something?”
“Anyway, we can’t just sit back and do nothing.” Daisy’s eyes.
glinted with cold light, and the ambition on her face was more
than obvious. “The Osborne Group can only be mine!”
It was dark outside when Sebastian went back to the villa.
“Finally, you’re back, Mr. Pearson. Mrs. Pearson hasn’t come
down all day today, and she hasn’t taken a bite. I’m so worried.””
Alissa was immediately relieved when she saw him.
Sebastian was changing his shoes, and he paused, slightly
frowning. “You didn’t go into her room to check on her?”
Chapter 12 Will You Feed Me?
“I did, yet she kept saying that she had no appetite, and she has
been sleeping, so I couldn’t go inside to disturb her.””
Sebastian put on his slippers and said in a deep voice, “I’ll go take
a look.”
Alissa nodded hurriedly and rushed to the kitchen to bring the
soup, which had already been made, and handed it to him.
Sebastian went upstairs with the soup.
There was not a sound upstairs. He knocked on her door but got
no answer.
He hesitated and then pushed open the door. There were no lights in the room, and it was pitch black. Through the hallway light, he could dimly see someone lying on the bed.
He walked over to the bed, turned on the bedside lamp, put the
soup on the nightstand, and looked at her delicate face.
Shirlene didn’t seem to be sleeping well. She was frowning slightly, and cold sweat was oozing from her forehead. Her pretty face now looked a bit more tender due to the slight cold, and her cheeks were slightly blushing, making her particularly pitiful.
Sebastian squatted by the bed, his eyes softened a little. He was

somehow reluctant to break the temporary peacefulness.
The room was filled with absolute quiet till Shirlene got
irritated and whispered.
“Sebastian, no…
“Nolan, you…”
The word “Nolan” brought Sebastian back to reality. He
remembered how she had cried the same way the night he
conquered her, shouting for him not to touch her.
darkened at once, and the softness in his eyes was
uliced by cold irony.
He was about to get up when Shirlene suddenly opened her
eyes. Their eyes met, and they both were stunned for a moment.
“Sebastian?” Shirlene was still in a daze, and she looked a bit
dazed.
Sebastian straightened up, his expression returning to the usual indifference. “Alissa has been worried about you, and she insisted on me coming here to check on you. Eat the soup now that you are awake.””
Shirlene wasn’t a pretentious woman. Perhaps it was because

she was sick, anyway, when she heard him say so, she felt a bit
upset.
“You’re here only because of Alissa?” she said in a muffled voice. “You don’t care about me at all?”
Sebastian was silent for a few seconds. Then he said flatly, “If nothing else, I’m leaving.”
Shirlene pursed her lips, her eyes turning somehow watery. She reached for Sebastian’s sleeve and asked expectantly and
pitifully, “Can you stay with me for a while?”
He said nothing, and she said in a low voice, “My mom used to be with me when I was sick, but she passed away early, and then I was always alone whenever I got sick. I just want someone to be with me…”
What Shirlene didn’t see was that Sebastian’s expression stiffened slightly the moment he heard her words, and he slowly clenched his hands, which were hanging by his sides, into fists.
She didn’t hear his response. She figured that he didn’t want to, and her eyes dimmed, filled with disappointment.
She was about to let go when Sebastian, who had his back to her, suddenly spoke.
Chapter 12 Will You Feed Me?
“OK.”
She thought she had heard him wrong, and she was a bit
dumbfounded.
Sebastian picked up the soup on the nightstand and handed it
over to her. “Eat.”
She stared at the soup for a while and then suddenly came back
to her senses. She beamed and said sweetly, “Sebastian, can I be
greedy? Will you feed me?”
Sebastian looked into her bright eyes. He actually didn’t refuse
her. Instead, he picked up a spoonful of soup and fed her.
She stared at the spoonful of soup, her eyes slightly burning. She gulped down the soup, and it was so hot that tears were welling
up in her eyes.
Yet she smiled happily, for at least this time, Sebastian didn’t
leave her with his back.
“Sebastian, the soup fed by you is the best!”
Certain emotions flashed across Sebastian’s eyes. He did not rush to feed her again. He only fed her again after the soup went a bit cold.
Chapter 12 Will You Feed Me?
Shirlene noticed that, and suddenly, she felt so happy.
She thought, “If I had seen the true colors of Daisy and Nolan in
my previous life, perhaps things between Sebastian and I
wouldn’t have come to this.”
“Let’s call it a day, OK, Seb?” Shirlene leaned over to Sebastian
and looked him in the eye seriously while saying.
