Chapter 16 Another Woman
“Unfair,” Daisy protested, rising with a touch of anger on her
pretty face. “If her mother wasn’t Tillie Bernstein, would you
have picked her? She arrived late and shouldn’t get the job. This
opportunity belongs to the initial winner.“”
“You mean yourself, right?” Annie sneered with disdain.
Daisy’s face turned pale, appearing somewhat pitiful as she
looked at the judges with reddened eyes.
The judges exchanged glances. Daisy’s argument held merit, but
they were aware that Daisy wasn’t the optimal choice. Even if
there were no other candidates, Lester might not have chosen.
her.
Shirlene, on the other hand, had showcased her exceptional
skills. No one would choose Daisy now.
Lester rose slowly, casting a cold gaze at Daisy and impatiently
remarking, “Don’t you realize how mediocre you are? If I were
you, I wouldn’t have spoken.”
“You…” Daisy blushed, staring at him in disbelief, seemingly
caught off guard by his harshness.

Lester paid no attention to her and walked straight to Shirlene.
His demeanor had shifted from lazy and wild to one of
enthusiasm. With a radiant smile, he extended his hand to
Shirlene. “Hi, I’m Lester Gerrard.”
His smile was so dazzlingly bright.
Shirlene paused and held his hand gently. “Shirlene Osborne.”
Lester’s different attitudes made Daisy feel so embarrassed.
When people looked at her with sarcasm and sympathy, she
even wanted to run away at once.
Daisy swore that she would never let Shirlene off!
After things were done, Shirlene refused Kenneth’s offer to give
her a ride and went to the toilet after telling Debby.
However, she felt so unlucky to meet Daisy here.
“Shirlene…” Daisy reacted at once. She hid her emotions and
called out in a gentle tone falsely, “Shirlene…”
Shirlene was cold. “Get out of my way!”
“Are you still mad at me? In fact, it was a mistake. I…” Daisy
didn’t go away.
Shirlene’s cold and sharp eyes swept over. She said bluntly,

“Drop the act. No one else is here. What do you want?”
Daisy paused and gave up on acting. She crossed her arms and
leaned against the wall, ordering, “Give this chance to me.”
“Why?”
“Because I can make Nolan forgive you.” Daisy had a confident
smile. “He must haven’t talked to you for a few days, right? As
long as I help you, he will..”
Shirlene couldn’t help sneering. “You think it matters to me?”
Daisy’s smile froze. She wondered, “What did Shirlene say?”
“Do you think I don’t know what’s going on with you?”
Shirlene’s face suddenly became gloomy. His eyes were cold and
as sharp as a knife. “Get out of my world! Get lost!”
Daisy felt scared by her gaze. A chill went down her spine.
She thought, “Why would this happen?
Nolan is the most important tool for me to control Shirlene.
Why didn’t it work?”
Shirlene reached out to push her. Just as she walked in, she felt
that Daisy pulled her wrist.

Without hesitation, Shirlene slapped Daisy.
Daisy was taken aback, her face contorting with a fierce
expression. Just as she was about to retaliate, she noticed Annie
at the restroom door.
Swiftly covering her face, she turned towards Shirlene with a
plaintive look, tears welling up. “Shirlene, I gave you an
opportunity. Why did you hit me?”
Shirlene also spotted Annie but remained silent, entering the
restroom without uttering a word.
Daisy was bewildered by Shirlene’s unexpected response.
Witnessing the scene, Annie hesitated for a moment before
entering as well.
Daisy lifted her hand, wiping away tears to reveal her
intentionally swollen and red face. She turned to Annie with a
distressed expression, saying, “Did you see that? She didn’t mean
- to. Can you keep it a secret?”
“None of my business.” Annie didn’t even look at her and said
impatiently, “Get out of my way.”
Daisy was mad, but she couldn’t vent her anger. She had to
swallow the anger.
Chapter 16 Another Woman
After washing her hands, Shirlene exited the restroom, and Daisy, still resentful, caught up with her.
A while later, Daisy suddenly heard a man’s voice from around
the corner. She glanced around, finding no cameras, and then
forcefully pushed Shirlene.
Shirlene, caught off guard, stumbled forward. In the next
moment, she fell into a broad and warm embrace.
A familiar faint fragrance enveloped her. Shirlene had just
managed to regain her balance when she heard a cold voice.
above her head. “When are you going to let go?”
Shirlene was pushed away before reacting.
She raised her head and looked into a pair of cold eyes.
“Sebastian?” Shirlene paused with surprise in her eyes. She
jumped over with a smile. “Why are you here?”
Sebastian had a cold face. He frowned and stopped her. “What
are you doing?”
“Ms. Osborne, I don’t think it’s appropriate to do this to a man in
public.” A female voice sounded with annoyance.
“It’s none of your business that I do this to my man!” Shirlene

said as she looked over. Then she found another woman behind
him.
That woman was wearing a light purple dress. Her long black
straight hair had a sheen. There was a touch of pride and
indifference on her delicate face. As she looked at Shirlene, she
had hostility and dissatisfaction in her eyes.
Shirlene knew her. It was Buena, the most popular actress from
Star Entertainment.
Shirlene wondered, “Why would she be with Sebastian here?”
Her words made Buena’s face change. She looked at Sebastian at
once.
Sebastian’s eyes shrank with a surprised look on his face.
He didn’t expect Shirlene to acknowledge their relationship in
public.
When Buena saw Sebastian’s surprised look, she was relieved.
Buena took a step forward to Shirlene and said coldly, “Ms.
Osborne, please behave. This is Mr. Pearson, the CEO of the
Pearson Group. You can’t hook up with him like this. Don’t say
that again, lest people misunderstand you.”

Shirlene was surprised.
She was talking to her husband! “What does it have to do with
her?” she thought.
Shirlene sized Buena up and realized something from her
hostile eyes.
She looked at Sebastian, whose face was cold. He didn’t intend to
explain.
Her heart sank. Sebastian was so cold to her. She wondered if he
had cheated on her.
Buena was calm when she was sized up, and she even got closer
to Sebastian with her proud gaze on Shirlene.
Shirlene felt uncomfortable when they stood so close to each
other. What was worse, Sebastian didn’t stop Buena…
