Chapter 9 She Seduces Him
Shirlene’s eyes were teary, and she looked innocent and pitiful.
Witnessing her vulnerable state, Sebastian found it difficult to
reprimand her. He released his grip, stood up, and gazed down
at her. “Did you instruct the maid to say that? What’s your
purpose in luring me here?”
Shirlene, hearing his frosty tone, felt even more hurt, tears
brimming in her eyes.
“If I hadn’t asked the maid to say that, would you even bother to
come in and check on me?” She wrapped herself in a towel and
stood up, speaking softly, “What else could I want but you?”
Attempting to embrace Sebastian, she extended her arms, but
he abruptly stepped back, denying her the opportunity.
“If nothing else, I’m leaving,” he said coldly and turned around,
wanting to leave.
“Wait!” Shirlene said immediately. “Sebastian, I sprained my
ankle.”
With that, she extended her slender right leg toward him, softly
brushing the tip of her toe against his thigh.

Sebastian tensed, and his eyes deepened in color.
Suppressing his reaction, he pressed his lips together and, in a
sudden motion, seized her ankle, swiftly turning around.
Witnessing this, Shirlene beamed, her smile taking on a
seductive and teasing quality. She spoke coquettishly,
“Sebastian, my foot hurts…“”
Shirlene, an icy beauty with delicate features, exuded charm
and allure with her bright smile.
Sebastian, though slightly furrowing his brow, showed signs of
trying to endure.
His gaze shifted from her face to her slender legs, lingering on
the ankle he held in his hand.
Shirlene’s legs were smooth, even, and slender, with perfect and
enticing ankles, their fair skin making the red mark more
noticeable.
Sebastian every bit of them, and something changed deep down in his eyes.
He closed his eyes and then opened them. By then, they were cold and unmoved again.

He tightened his grip on her ankle and said coldly and gloomily,
“Tell me. What are you up to this time?”
Shirlene blinked and whispered, looking shy, “Can’t you see? I’m
inviting you to ‘sleep“.”
“Are you insulting me?” Sebastian sarcastically curled up his
lips, looking sullen and gloomy. He sneered, “Shirlene, you really
can go all out for him, right?”
Shirlene thought, “Insulting Sebastian?
“For him? Who?”
She looked at him, puzzled, not following.
“I’m not…”
Before she could finish speaking, he let go of her ankle. His face
was filled with indifference as he sneered, “You think I care?”
Shirlene’s face went deadly pale at once, and her heartache was
killing her.
“Do you have to be so mean, Sebastian?” Her eyes turned red,
and she looked sad. She said while sobbing, “I know I’ve done a
lot of things wrong in the past, and you don’t believe me. Yet I
really want to be good to you right now. I want to make it up to

you…”
Hearing the words “make it up“, Sebastian felt stung. His eyes
turned nothing but cold.
“I don’t need you to make it up,” he smiled coldly. “Not now, not
ever.”
Then he turned around and left the bedroom.
Shirlene gazed at his determined figure, struggling to regain her composure for an extended period.
The memory of Sebastian rushing through the flames towards her during the warehouse fire was etched in her mind.
Despite assuming he would welcome her change of heart, she
recognized the depth of the wounds she inflicted,
understanding that winning him back wouldn’t be an immediate process.
After standing outside the door briefly, Sebastian descended the stairs.
“Mr. Pearson, is Mrs. Pearson OK?” The maid walked forward.
Sebastian stated matter–of–factly, “Alissa.” After a moment’s pause, he added, “She sprained her ankle. I have some ointment

in my study. Bring it to her.”
“Mr. Pearson, aren’t you going to bring it to her yourself?” Alissa
Gibson looked at him, somewhat anxious.
As a lifelong maid for the Pearson family, she had taken care of
Sebastian’s mother and witnessed his upbringing. She viewed
Sebastian as her own son and harbored a desire to witness his
reconciliation with Shirlene for a joyous life together.
“No,” Sebastian said coldly, and she couldn’t tell what his
emotions were.
“Mr. Pearson, may I speak?” Alissa said, hesitating slightly. “I
believe Mrs. Pearson has truly changed. I can see that she cares
deeply for you. When she returned tonight, the first thing she
did was ask me if you were at home. Upon learning you weren’t,
she seemed so disheartened. Mr. Pearson, if you still care about
her, why not give it another chance?”
Sebastian’s face darkened as he contemplated the events that
had unfolded in the bedroom, his eyes reflecting emotions
unknown.
“Don’t ever say things like this again.”
He went upstairs.

Alissa sighed, went to the study to get the medical kit, and
brought it to the bedroom.
“What’s up, Alissa?” In the next second, Shirlene saw the
medical kit Alissa was holding, and her eyes lit up. “He asked
you to bring it here?”
Alissa smiled and nodded, carrying the medical kit to the bed.
She looked down at Shirlene’s ankle and frowned.
Apparently, Shirlene’s foot was a little swollen, and her ankle
was covered with red marks. Obviously, it hurt.
Alissa sighed as she thought of Sebastian’s attitude. As she took
the ointment out of the medical kit, she said, “Don’t blame him,
Mrs. Pearson. Mr. Pearson actually cares about you a lot. He
came down specifically to tell me to come and bring you the
ointment.“6
“He cares about me?” Shirlene’s eyes brightened, and she
grinned. “I knew it! He cares about me all this time!”
Seeing her like that, Alissa smiled as well. As she was about to
apply the ointment on Shirlene’s ankle, Shirlene suddenly
jumped out of bed.
“I’ll go find him!” Shirlene moved so fast that she nearly fell off

the bed. Yet she did not care at all. She took the ointment from
Alissa’s hand and rushed to the guest room.
The door was unlocked, so she twisted the doorknob and
opened it.
She entered and blushed upon hearing the sound of water
coming from the bathroom.
Despite being married to Sebastian for years, the only time they
had intimate relations was at the bar when she was drugged.
Shirlene shyly covered her face at the prospect of being
intimate with Sebastian later. Gazing at the soft bed before her,
she leaped onto it. A faint, cool scent lingered in the air–it was
his scent.
Hugging the quilt, she closed her eyes and inhaled the cool
fragrance, feeling more at ease than ever before.
“What are you doing?” Sebastian’s cold voice came from above
her head.
Shirlene opened her eyes at once and saw Sebastian standing
next to the bed. Her face turned red, and she swallowed
subconsciously.
