Chapter 2
Maya couldn’t handle it and wanted to break up, but Connor refused to let her go. And to get Maya’s forgiveness, he followed her around day and night, never leaving her sideЛ]
Connor cried, he made scenes, and at one point he even went to the extreme of trapping Maya in his apartment, saying that even if Maya hated him. he’d stay with her through life and death
After yet another fight, Connor put a knife in Maya’s hand, telling her to either kill him or forgive him–just don’t keep being so coldЛ]
Looking at Connor’s bloody, mangled palm and seeing his face full of regret and tears, Maya finally forgave him.]
After that, Connor personally took Serena to get rid of their baby.]
After their marriage, Connor completely gave up drinking and catered to Maya’s every need. He spent every minute of every day trying to make up for the guilt he felt toward MayaЛ]
A year later, Maya got pregnant. She wanted to give their daughter the nickname Emma, but Connor found some excuse to shoot it down. At the time, Maya just thought he didn’t like the name. Only later did she find out–he already had an Emma.]
He never made Serena get rid of their baby.
That child had stolen her daughter’s name, and now she was stealing her daughter’s heart.]
Connor’s so–called love was sugar–coated poison–one blade stabbing her, another stabbing their daughter]
“Maya, you’re exhausted. Let me take you home to rest,” Connor reached out to support Maya, his eyes still showing concern. “Once Emma’s surgery is done, I’ll explain everything.”
“Connor.” Serena grabbed onto Connor’s sleeve, looking helpless and pitiful “Coneer, please stay with me? I’m scared.“[]
Connor hesitated, and the hand that was supporting Maya finally let go. “Meys, just go home and wait for me.“[]
Maya’s heart turned to ash. She closed her eyes to hide the endless pain inside, and when the opened them again, they were empty and desolate. She asked Connor in a hoarse voice, “Where’s my daughter?“]]
“The morgue.“]]
Maya didn’t spare Connor another glance. She turned around like a lost soul and walked away]
In the bone chilling morgue, her daughter lay there motionless, without a trace of warmth left.
Her frail little body, looking so alone–every inch of it pierced through Maya’s heart.]
She held her daughter in agony, screaming until her voice was raw.
“Baby, mommy’s here. Look at mommy.“]
“It’s all my fault. If I hadn’t chosen to forgive him back then, maybe none of this would’ve happened“]]
Maya sat holding her child for a full day and night, accepting the devastating reality of her daughter’s death in endless despair
A whole day and night passed. Connor never came here to see once.]]
Maya laughed bitterly at his coldness, at her own naivery and stupidity. People always say–once someone betrays you, never trust them again.
How could she have chosen to forgive him back then?]
This time, she wouldn’t forgive him again
Maya knew Connor would never let her go easily. Someone as extreme as him would never agree to a divorce–he’d chain her to him for life, torturing

her forever.
So Maya went and arranged for a fake death service. She’d let Maya disappear along with her daughter–there would be no more Maya in this world.]
The fake death was scheduled for one month later.
“Miss Maya, once the plan is set in motion, there’s no turning back. Do you want to think it over some more?” the staff member from the fake death agency advised.]
Maya didn’t hesitate for a second. “No need to think about it.”
She signed her name.
