When Maya diruggled in sit up, Serena walked into the tooth carrying a medical tray. “Miss Maya, you shouldn’t move around. Your back wounds were just treated–if you keep moving, they’ll tear open again.”
Maya glared at her angrily. “Get out “[]
Serena ignored Maya’s words completely.
“I can’t leave. I need to take care of you.]
Connor’s parents wouldn’t let Connor take you to the hospital for your wounds, so Connor could only have you treated at home.
Connor was supposed to wait for you to wake up, but unfortunately our Emma felt a bit unwell last night, so he had to go with her to the hospital”
Maya felt a stab of pain in her heart.]
Before, when Maya was cutting fruit and accidentally cut her finger, Connor had rushed her to the hospital in the middle of the night and even contacted the chief physician, causing the doctor to roll his eyes at Connor several times. []
After they got home, Connor was so worried he didn’t sleep all night, and from then on, he never let Maya touch a fruit knife again.
Now, her back was covered in wounds, but she could only be treated at home, and the person he left to watch over her was the very person who had framed her.
“Just get out. I don’t need you to take care of me.” Maya turned her head away, not wanting to deal with her.
Serena looked at Maya with a cold laugh. “You think I want to take care of you?]
Maya, four years ago Connor broke off his engagement with me because of you. Now I’m going to make him divorce you. The position of Mrs. Mitchell will be mine sooner or later. []
I’ll take back everything that belongs to me.‘
Maya turned to look at Serena, completely unmoved by her declaration. “If you want to take the position of Mrs. Mitchell, go ahead. I don’t care.“]
Serena took Maya’s indifferent attitude as showing off, and her anger flared even more.[]
Just as she was about to speak again, she heard footsteps outside the door. A flash crossed Serena’s eyes, and she suddenly threw the tray in her hands to the floor, then picked up the scissors from the ground and slashed her own arm. Blood immediately gushed out.[]
“Ah!” Serena cried out in pain.
The door was pushed open, and Connor immediately saw Serena’s injury and the bloody scissors by the bed. Without thinking, he looked at Maya. “Maya, what are you doing now!“]
“I didn’t do anything.” Maya met Connor’s gaze, her tone defiant.[]
“Connor, Connor, don’t be mad. Whatever Maya does is totally fair–this is what Emma and I owe her.” Serena said through her tears, looking at Maya with a pitiful expression. “As long as Maya doesn’t hurt my Emma anymore, she can do whatever she wants to me.“[]
Hearing Serena’s words, Connor was completely done with Maya. []
“Maya, how can you still not get that you’re wrong? []
Serena didn’t even blame you for what happened with Emma–she’s actually being nice to you by taking care of you, and this is how you repay her? Maya, when did you become so cold and crazy? []
Mom and Dad said I’ve been spoiling you all these years, and I thought they were being dramatic, but now I see they were spot on. []
I spoiled you way too much, and that’s why you think you can get away with anything!“]
