The guy handed Blake the key, but Blake’s hands were shaking so badly he dropped it.
The key clattered to the floor near Claire’s feet.
Blake grabbed Claire’s arm desperately: “Claire! Quick! Open the door! Get Harper out! HURRY!“]]
Terrified by Blake’s panic, Claire kicked off her shoes and ran barefoot to the freezer door.]
She glanced back at Blake, then turned away from him as she inserted the key.]]
When she spun around, I caught a glimpse of vicious satisfaction in her eyes.]]
SNAP!
The sound of breaking metal echoed through the room.]]
Claire dropped to her knees in front of Blake: “Blake… the key… it broke…“]
Blake’s face went ghostly pale. He stumbled to the door, demanding answers: “HOW?! How did the key break?! Get a locksmith! NOW!“[]
Blood was flooding the entire freezer now. I couldn’t stop the agonized moans escaping my throat.[]
“Blake! Harper hasn’t admitted she was wrong yet! You said you’d use this chance to fix her spoiled attitude. All your friends are watching…”]
“And what about what I suffered in the ICU? You promised you’d make her pay…“[]
Blake stopped the person heading for a locksmith. He turned back, pounding on the freezer door with desperation in his voice: “Harper, just say you’re sorry! For our baby’s sake, please!“[]
“Just admit you were wrong and I’ll let you out immediately! You don’t want our baby to die, do you? I’m BEGGING you, Harper! Would it kill you to be humble for once?!”
Massive blood loss was making me delirious. Slumped in the growing pool of blood, I looked at Blake through the glass and whispered: “Blake….….. let me out… or my dad will destroy you…”
Claire shot me a look of hidden malice, but her voice stayed tearful and innocent: “Harper, are you losing your mind? Your dad died six months ago! The Winston family collapsed! Just apologize–no one else can save you now!“]
The crowd outside joined in the mockery:[]
“Princess Winston, wake up! Your daddy’s probably burning in hell right now! He can’t hurt anyone!”
They laughed while tugging on Blake’s clothes: “Bro, she’s obviously faking it! The baby’s fine. Let her freeze in there!“]
“Yeah! After how she treated Claire, you can’t go easy on her now!“]
The freezer was completely obscured by blood. They couldn’t see what I could feel the movement in my belly growing weaker and weaker.]
I was screaming, wailing in agony.]
Blake paced frantically outside, then looked at me with helpless desperation: “Harper, forget about your dad saving you! He’s DEAD! Just say ‘I was wrong‘ and I’ll let you out!“]
“Baby, give up! Your dad’s never coming to rescue you again!“]
The second Blake finished speaking, the door EXPLODED inward]
A team of fully armed mercenaries stormed in, followed by a deep, commanding voice: “Who says her dad won’t come save her?“[]
