Chapter 16
David hesitantly took out a bottle of medication, only to have Riley snatch it away directly.
Seeing her satisfied look as she examined the instructions, he couldn’t help but speak with some compassion:
“Are you sure you want to make Clay infertile? This drug is forbidden, it seriously damages the human body, and the effects are irreversible. Aren’t you afraid he’ll hate you once he finds out?” He was a doctor Riley had met abroad, who’d followed her back to the States.
Getting this kind of drug wasn’t easy; he went through great effort, naturally worried about the final exposure and implicating himself.
But Riley just chuckled indifferently, “No one can stop me when I’ve made
up my mind!” “the child is born, I will definitely give him the medication. Rest assured, even if he knows, het loves me so much he won’t care.”
“He loves me,
loves me so much he would unconditionally sacrifice everything for me. The only issue is that it affects his body, and he can’t have children anymore. I’ve already been with him. and had a child with him. What more could he be dissatisfied with?”
As she spoke, Riley sneered contemptuously, completely disregarding Clay’s deep affection. To her, devotion was useless, yet powerful.
She exploited Clay’s love enough to accomplish many things.
Riley clutched the medication bottle with satisfaction, her plan now fully formed, just waiting for the right time to execute.
After putting the bottle away, she noticed David’s panic on his face, buried into his embrace, her voice honeyed.
“Don’t worry, David. I won’t hurt you. Once my plan succeeds, we both benefit. Clay loves me; he won’t probe too deeply, so rest assured!”
David forced a bitter smile and nodded, “I hope so.”
They embraced tenderly.
Clay, standing at the doorway, had heard everything.
He felt like he had fallen into an ice cellar, his whole body freezing to the extreme.
The words he once said to me echoed in his mind, now somehow turned against him in a form of revenge.
Only when he experienced these hurtful words firsthand did he truly understand the pain I felt when I knew everything.

It was like a big hole tearing open in his chest, cold wind rushing in, his heart already bloodied and torn, aching terribly.
The despair and heart–wrenching pain were unbearable.
Clay’s eyes darkened like ink, his handsome face gradually turning sinister.
With a bang, he suddenly pushed open the door, punching David in the face and knocking him.
back.
Then, with red eyes, he tightly grasped Riley’s neck with both hands.
“Riley, you’re really something! You just know I love you, so you think I won’t do anything to you, huh?”
The oxygen in his lungs grew thinner, Riley’s face turning red and purple, desperately slapping at Clay’s hands and struggling to break free.
“Mm…I can’t…breathe…”
“Clay…let…go…please…”
Riley’s voice was hoarse to the extreme, like a broken winded bellows, raspy Tears streamed down her face, falling onto Clay’s hands.
and unpleasant.
But he showed no mercy; his eyes burned filled with overwhelming hatred. “Riley, I hate you! I’ve sacrificed so much for you. What I used to be was just a boastful story you told, and I tolerated it. When you saw I was disabled and useless, you abandoned me–I endured that. When you saw I made a comeback and returned to the country, forcing me to abort Maya’s child, even digging out her marrow for you–that I endured all of it, just because I loved you!” “But how did you treat me? What am I to you? Just a tool? I’m a living person! I feel pain, Riley! Why are you so cruel?”
Clay roared with all his might, as if he wanted to vent all his rage and fury inside.
