Then came a high–pitched scream from the hallway. “Oh my God! Tristan, what’s happening to your body?!“}
Everyone who had attended the wedding earlier and stayed behind just to witness the result was now gathered outside our room. They weren’t just there to see who won the bet. They were here for the curse.}
And this time, they got exactly what they came for.
“Get out! All of you, get out! I’m fine! I said I’m fine!”
Tristan’s roars mixed with the screams of the crowd as chaos broke loose in the corridor.}
Inside, I slowly got dressed while Drake hugged me from behind.§
“Honey,” he murmured, “I finally believe the curse is real. Thank you for saving me.”>
I smiled faintly and replied, “You’re welcome. I already saw it with my own eyes, remember?“}
He paused, confused. “Wait, what? As far as I know, no one in our family has shown symptoms of the curse in the last fifty years.“}
I let out a soft sigh as memories from my past life came rushing back.
Back then, I didn’t believe in the curse either.
Not until I died. And just before my soul faded away, I saw Drake’s lifeless body in some foreign country.
That was when I realized that the curse was real.
Eloise’s POVE
Even though Drake was adopted by their grandfather, the moment his name was added to the Clark family registry, the curse marked him too.
That curse had never been about blood. It followed the family name.
Fortunately, Drake had always been cautious, and he truly saw himself as a member of the Clark family. If he hadn’t come looking for me in this lifetime, he would’ve ended up just like Tristan.
“I’m a blessed,” I said lightly, brushing past the painful memories. “So I see things in dreams that others can’t.“}
I left it at that. No way was I telling him I’d seen what he looked like in my past life, twisted and cursed beyond recognition. That image alone would terrify anyone.
“Really?” he asked. “Well, I haven’t seen anything like that. Come on, let’s go check out the scene.“>
He grabbed my hand and opened the door.
The hallway was packed wall–to–wall with people. And right in the middle of it all, Tristan stood wrapped in a towel, flailing around like a mad dog.
Before we could get a good look, he bolted back into his room and slammed the door shut. From inside, we heard him raging and Bianca crying.
“You bitch! You ruined me and still dare to call yourself a blessed girl?!“}
Slaps, glass shattering, and furniture being overturned could be heard from their room.
“Ah! Please, don’t hit me! I don’t know what happened either! I really have a curse–breaking blessing, I swear! Please stop hitting me!“}
Just then, Mr. and Mrs. Clark finally arrived. When they heard the racket coming from inside the room, their faces went pale.}
“Everyone, please,” Mr. Clark said, his voice tense but polite, “we appreciate your concern, but let’s not spread what happened tonight. The Clark family owes you a favor.”
The meaning behind his words was crystal clear. Say anything, and you’d regret it.§
Within a minute, everyone had scattered.
Mrs. Clark, eyes red from crying, banged on the door. “Tristan, please open up!”
But Tristan only screamed back, “Mom! That bitch ruined me! Look at me. How am I supposed to face anyone now?! I’m going to kill her! I’ll kill her!”
Bianca’s shrieks echoed louder, “Ah! Someone help me! Please!“}
It was then followed by a loud crash, then silence.
Mr. Clark began pacing frantically, stomping the floor in panic. “Son, don’t be afraid! We have money! We have doctors! We’ll do whatever it takes to fix this!”
Finally, Tristan broke down in sobs. “Dad! Am I… am I even fixable? I’m so scared!”
“You’ll be fine, son. I promise you’ll be okay. Look at your uncle. He’s fine! We’ll beg Eloise to save you!” Mr. Clark cooed, then looked at me.
But immediately waved my hands. “Whoa, whoa, hold on, I didn’t agree to anything. My husband and I still need to get back to bed. Excuse us.”
Without another word, I pulled Drake back into the room and slammed the door.
No matter who came knocking that night, I pretended not to hear a thing.”
The next morning, I opened the door to find Mr. and Mrs. Clark sitting outside, faces pale and bruised with exhaustion.
The moment they saw me, Mrs. Clark shot up and clutched my hand tightly. “Eloise, please… I’m begging you, save my son! He’s our only child. If we lose him, we won’t survive it either!“!

I’d always thought her love for Tristan was tragically sincere. So this time, I didn’t shake her off.
“How is he now?” I asked calmly.
Hearing that I cared even a little, Mr. Clark bowed deeply to me in gratitude. “We brought him home last night. The family doctor gave him a sedative. He’s probably still asleep.”
“Oh?” I said with a smile. “Then let’s head over now and take a look.”
I hadn’t gotten a good look at Tristan’s new cursed form last night, and there was no way I was letting that slide.
“Honey,” I said, turning back, “you’re coming with me.”
Drake grinned and laced his fingers through mine.”
