“Zayden! Please, I’m begging you–don’t do this to me. If we break off the engagement now, everyone will laugh at me! We
grew up together… can you really bear to see me become the laughingstock of the entire school?”
Naomi looked at Zayden with pleading eyes.
Zayden hesitated.
She had called him that name-“Zayden“-for so many years. Caring for her had become second nature.
Sensing his hesitation, Naomi quickly added, “Zayden, I won’t make it difficult for you. I’ll stop being your fiancée. Just… please wait until after graduation before we make it official, okay?”
She didn’t need Zayden for real.
As long as he was still willing to pretend in front of others, she wouldn’t be the butt of everyone’s jokes.
Looking at her, Zayden finally relented. “Fine. But you need to promise me–don’t go after Eliza anymore.”
“Okay!”
Naomi’s face lit up instantly. “Don’t worry, Zayden! I’ll never cause trouble for Eliza again. Just promise me you won’t make our breakup public before graduation, and I’ll do whatever you say!”
Zayden didn’t want to argue any further. He turned and headed back to class.
Naomi followed closely behind and even slipped her hand into his arm, pretending nothing was wrong in front of their classmates.
Zayden didn’t respond, which was as good as silent consent.
At the door to Class 6, Julio entered.
Henry frowned at the unfamiliar face. “Who are you?”
“I’m here for Ms. Rivers,” Julio said politely, turning his gaze to Eliza.
Eliza stood up from her seat. “Is something the matter?”
“Mr. Tyson is here at school for a meeting. It should be ending shortly. He’d like to invite you to lunch, if you’re available.”
As he spoke, Julio couldn’t help but glance in Nolan’s direction, clearly gauging his reaction.
“I have class this afternoon.”
“If that’s the only concern, Ms. Rivers, there’s no need to worry. Mr. Tyson has already arranged your leave with the school. And after lunch, he will personally escort you back.”
Julio seemed to emphasize the word “personally” on purpose.
Eliza glanced at Nolan behind her.
His expression didn’t change. He looked completely indifferent–like he didn’t care who she left with.
After a brief moment of thought, Eliza nodded. “Alright, I’ll go.”
The moment she agreed, the pencil in Nolan’s hand snapped in two.
Henry, who saw it, froze. “Wait, what the-”
Did he just snap that pencil with one hand?
“Seriously, Nolan? You’re like… freakishly strong.”

Then Henry frowned. “Who was that guy anyway? He said something about Mr. Tyson. Is he your relative or something?”
Nolan didn’t have many relatives–but every one of them was a big deal.
Before Henry could guess further, Nolan stood up.
“Nolan? Where are you going?”
“Out. Something to take care of.”
Nolan walked out of Class 6 without another word.
Henry blinked. “What’s with him today?”
Colton shrugged. “What else? Looks like he’s going after someone.”
“Huh?”
Meanwhile…
Eliza followed Julio into the car.
Inside were just the driver, Julio, and Tyson–seated beside her.
“Mr. Tyson, how’s the deal with Cassius going?” Eliza asked.
“Oh? So you know why I came looking for you?”
Tyson gave her a deliberate look. “You made me lose a ton of money. I’m about to sell you off to Laos for hard labor.”
He expected to see fear on her face–but Eliza just looked at him calmly and replied, “That’s not possible.”
“Not possible? And how would you know I’m not sending you to Laos? I’m Tyson–I can do anything.”
“I didn’t mean it’s impossible for you to sell me to Laos. I meant it’s impossible that you lost a ton of money.”
Eliza added, “The deal with Cassius will bring you unimaginable profit.”
Tyson’s smile slowly faded. “Why do you say that?”
“Cassius is a man of principle. If he gives his word, he’ll follow through. And he’s no philanthropist. The things he does behind closed doors… most can’t be spoken of publicly.”
