Chapter 1
This was the hundredth time I had brought up divorce–and the only time I actually meant it.
Every year on our wedding anniversary, Adrian Kensington would bring home a different woman.
On our tenth anniversary, he brought back a young, redheaded woman.
“She doesn’t have a formal dress. Let her wear your wedding gown–and the jewelry I gave you.”
Everyone waited to see me humiliated, and I mentioned divorce again.
He laughed. “You always say that. 20 million dollars–let’s see if you can leave.”
I smiled, signed the divorce papers, and walked out without looking back.
The next month, I became his rival’s woman.
He glared at me with bloodshot eyes. “Is this your way of getting back at me?”
I smiled: “Do you really think you’re worth my revenge?”

“If you really want a divorce, I’ll give you 20 million dollars!”
All
eyes in the room turned to me. Even the redhead who had just walked in covered her mouth and laughed.

“Place your bets! I wager she won’t make it out the door before changing
her mind.”
“I bet one million she won’t leave!”
“I’m in for thirty thousand!”
The betting on whether I’d stay had become a stale tradition at every anniversary party.
Those who lost money resented me, and those who won weren’t any kinder.
I shook my head with a slight smile, scolding myself for taking ten years to finally decide to leave Adrian.
“I bet she leaves!”
A deep voice came from the crowd. Others
“foolish” bet, but I couldn’t see who had tried to talk him out of his
spoken.
“Adrian, I’ll send the divorce papers to your office. Make sure you sign them.”
I’d mentioned divorce hundreds of times, but this was the first time I’d ever brought up actual divorce papers.
Adrian straightened up, dropping cigarette ash all over the floor.
I pretended not to notice, crouched down, and removed my high heels, placing them beside the young woman’s feet.
Her name was Violet Lawson, barely in her twenties, and very beautiful.
“These shoes pinch a bit, but you’ll get used to them with wear.

them to you.
“Before you, Adrian brought home nine other women. If you have
questions, ask them. They live on the third floor. Your room is the last one on the right.”
In our ten years of marriage, Adrian had brought home enough women to start a harem.
Tall, short, curvy, slim, innocent, sultry, aloof, cheerful–every type imaginable.
People gossiped that he was collecting a dozen women for his personal collection, like a typical playboy.
But I wouldn’t be one of his treasures anymore.
I brushed off invisible dust from the back of my shoes and stood up, walking barefoot toward the main door.
Before I reached it, a strong hand yanked me back.
“Sophia, if you want to leave, leave with nothing. Everything you’re wearing was bought with my money.”
My bare feet felt like they were standing on ice. Even my breath trembled.
“You want me to strip?”
Adrian raised an eyebrow, his gaze floating over me as if trying to see through my clothes.
“When your family went bankrupt, didn’t your mother strip you naked and shove you into my bed? Leave the same way you came!
“Or have you changed your mind? Fine, if you kneel and put the shoes on her feet, I’ll forgive you.”

The crowd behind Adrian doubled over with laughter.
Years ago, shortly after Adrian and I got together, the Rivera Group collapsed, and my father jumped from a building, becoming comatose.
My mother, afraid the Kensington family wouldn’t help, drugged both Adrian and me. Afterward, she did everything to publicize the incident, forcing the Kensington family to take responsibility.
That night marked the beginning of all my humiliations.
It also completely destroyed the young love between Adrian and me.
Adrian was forced to marry me, and on our wedding night, he brought another woman home to humiliate me.
He did everything imaginable in front of to tear open and hand to him.

Now, I couldn’t take it anymore.
“I’ll undress.”
