I never thought Liam would actually agree.
Since he did, it was time for full transparency.
“George and I have broken up. There are no feelings left between us.”
Liam paused. “Good. Maya and I never slept together. We were never legally married, either.”
I was surprised. Liam pursed his lips. “Not just anyone can be Mrs. Parker.”
For some reason, I felt like his words were aimed at me.
And just like that, Liam and I were on the same page. It was a hundred times smoother than my relationship with George had ever
been.
“Then you should rest. I’ll come pick you up tomorrow.”
As I turned to leave, Liam clutched his chest and let out a pained grunt.
I rushed back to his side, my voice tight with anxiety. “Is it your heart? Should we go back to the hospital?”
I grabbed his hand, ready to drag him out, but he stopped me.
Facing my confusion, he said in a hoarse voice, “The doctor said there’s still a potential for complications after discharge. I can’t be left alone.”
His heartbeat was strong and steady under my hand. The floating text, however, was in hysterics.
[LMAO, I’m calling him out! From my omniscient perspective, I can confirm the doctor never said that! Liam is just playing pitiful so he can spend more time with the SFL!)
[Just stay if you want to stay! You’re both adults, LOL.]
[I never knew the domineering CEO type could be so shy and awkward when it comes to love!]
It dawned on me.
Once I was sure he was fine, a playful impulse took over as I watched him feign weakness. I boldly stroked the muscle of his chest, my fingertips trailing down his torso.
Chapter 2
Liam’s body tensed instantly.
When my fingers reached his abdomen, they changed course, landing on the mattress beside him.
“Then what should we do? A man and a woman, alone together… wouldn’t that be inappropriate?”
Liam looked like he was about to laugh from sheer exasperation. He flipped me over, pinning me beneath him.
“When you were running after George every day, you didn’t think it was inappropriate then?”
The memory of my simping days made my face burn with shame.
On a whim, I wrapped my arms around his neck.
Liam froze, as if encouraged, then his hands clamped down on my waist.
In a haze of passion, I pushed against his chest.
“The doctor said you can’t do any strenuous exercise yet.”
A flicker of annoyance crossed his eyes. He pulled me up.
“Then you do the work.”
[AAAAAAAH! I’M THE OMNISCIENT NARRATOR, WHY IS THIS PART SUDDENLY CENSORED?!]
[I’M A PAYING SUBSCRIBER, WHY CAN’T I WATCH THIS?!]
