Chapter 6
After joining my mother’s pack, my health recovered quickly under her care.
It wasn’t long before I was able to help her with daily tasks.
Once I became familiar with how the pack operated, I submitted a request to the Alpha to become a warrior.
Through relentless training, I finally earned the title of warrior in less than a year and repeatedly defended the pack from danger.
Our pack grew stronger because of it. More and more packs sought to form alliances with us, hoping for our support and protection.
Many extended offers to join forces–even Blake’s pack expressed interest in a partnership.
When my mother received the news, her response was cold.
Though the Bloodmoon Pack was powerful and such a collaboration would benefit both sides, she had heard of what I had suffered and had seen my pain with her own eyes. No amount of profit could ever convince her to betray me.
Just as she was about to reject them outright, I stopped her.
“Mom, it’s okay. Forming an alliance with the Bloodmoon Pack would help us expand into the northern areas.”
“Blake rarely gets involved in warrior management. I don’t want to give up this opportunity because of personal issues.”
Reluctantly, my mother agreed.
I led the warriors into the northern pack territory.
To minimize any potential incidents, I personally oversaw all communications and arrangements with the other side.
The night the alliance was finalized, the other pack’s members excitedly invited me to their celebration banquet.
“Jenna, this was your hard–won achievement, It’s the last night–just enjoy a nice dinner with us!”
I didn’t want to dampen the mood, so I accepted the invitation.
What I hadn’t expected was for Blake, who had always been disinterested in pack affairs, to show up that night.
Several girls were gossiping in hushed tones.
“Didn’t the Alpha stop attending events after he lost his Luna? I heard he was deeply devoted to her. The funeral turned into such a spectacle.”
“A She–wolf tried to fake an injury to get close to him and ended up breaking the urn. Alpha had her thrown into prison for six months. I heard she nearly went insane in there!”
“I heard the only reason he came tonight was because the other pack’s head warrior shares the same name as his Luna. That’s real devotion–just hearing the name made him want to come offer condolences.”
I frowned deeply.
I hadn’t expected something as trivial as a name to give me away.
I had always known I would cross paths with Blake again someday, but just thinking about everything he had done made my stomach churn.
One of my team members noticed how pale I looked and asked with concern, “Jenna, you don’t look well. Let me take you back to the hotel.”
I nodded, covering my mouth, and quickly made my way toward the exit.
Just then, several men appeared outside the door, and we bumped straight into them.
Caught off guard, I looked up and froze when I met Blake’s eyes.
His breath caught in his throat. He stared at me in disbelief and murmured, “Jenna… is it really you?”
My body tensed. I quickly stood up and tried to flee, but Blake grabbed my arm and wouldn’t let go.
His eyes were bloodshot, his voice trembling. “Jenna, thank the Moon Goddess you’re alive… I’ve missed you so much!”
“Please don’t run–I just want to be with you again, to live a good life together.”
The moment Blake shouted, the entire banquet hall fell silent.
Dozens of curious eyes turned toward us, and I knew I couldn’t stay here any longer.

Swallowing my fury, I flung his hand off and said coldly, “Let’s talk outside.” Blake agreed without hesitation.
It had been a year since I last saw him. Compared to the confident, commanding Alpha I had once known, Blake now looked utterly worn out.
The moment we stepped outside the hotel, he reached for my hand and stared at me, as if trying to pour out all his pain.
“Jenna, I’m so sorry for everything I put you through.”
“I believed Lindsey’s lies back then. I thought you were the one who hurt her, and that’s why I treated you that way.”
“I messed up. I thought a lot since you left. I realized I can’t live without you.”
“I already had Lindsey thrown in prison. Everything she once did to you–I made sure she suffered it all in return. Now she has nothing. I’ve avenged you. Can’t you forgive me and come back to me?”
His eyes were full of desperation.
By the end of his plea, he could no longer hold back his emotions and actually began to cry.
If it had been the old me, just seeing Blake like this–so pitiful and broken–I would’ve softened, no matter what he had done.
But I was no longer that naive girl who could be deceived by false love.
I looked at him coldly.
“Are you done? I’m tired. I’m leaving.”
Just as I turned around, something unexpected happened.
Lindsey–who had apparently been hiding nearby–suddenly sprang out of nowhere.
She held a sharp knife in her hand and charged straight toward me.
