I stared at him looking so miserable and suddenly found it kind of funny.
“What am I to you, Dominic?”
“A dog you can call over and kick away whenever you want?“[]
“So I was born to kneel beside you, lick your boots, and never be able to leave you?”
His eyes went wide and his face turned white.[]
“Lauren, I didn’t mean it like that, I didn’t…“[]
“Didn’t you?”
I laughed coldly, my lashes fluttering a little. Tried my best to hold back all that stuff churning inside me.
“Dominic, when you had people torture me until I was covered in bruises, when you had someone try to kill me with that truck–you sure weren’t saying that then..
“Now I’m awake, Dominic. The old Lauren stayed by your side for three years because of a promise to her father. Those three years are up. I don’t want you anymore.

But then he snapped out of it, crawled over to me on his knees, grabbed the hem of my dress, and started screaming like a maniac:]
“YOU’RE LYING, LAUREN! Don’t you love me? Don’t lie to me okay? You’ve liked me since we were kids, how could you just go like that?!”

Dominic’s eyes were bloodshot, almost having a complete breakdown.
He looked at Liam beside me, grinding his teeth

“I might not know everything about her, but at least I know she’s allergic to mushrooms. I know she needs me when she’s hurting most, not someone who runs off to comfort another woman while she’s choking to death.“]
“I know how to treasure her, to love her like she’s precious, not throw her into hell to be tortured.“]
“And I know that she loves me and I love her, so I’d never pretend to be broke or blind and make her suffer like that!‘
“What about you? You can’t even do these simple things. What gives you the right to say you love her?”
Dominic had nothing to say. He barely managed to prop himself up, kneeling there, staring at me with his whole body shaking:]
“Lauren, please, I’m begging you… give me one more chance, okay?”
“If I could go back in time, I swear I’d never hurt you again…“]
I stared at him, my face completely blank:]
“Then remember this regret.“]
“Let it keep you company for the rest of your life.”
“As for me, Dominic, I’ve found my own happiness now. And all of this-
