Under the powerful aura pressure, Gerald got scared and stood up, bowed and quickly left the ward.
Darren slammed the door and turned to look at the flowers next to Isabela’s hand.
“Did he like you and confess to you?”
Isabela mot his gaze, didn’t answer.
Faced with her silence, Darren went up and picked up the bunch of roses, then threw it out of the window.
Isabela rejected Gerald, but she didn’t want to see his feelings get trashed like that,
So she pulled out the needle in her hand and was about to pick it up, but Darren grabbed her wrist and pushed it down on the hospital bed.
He stared at her intently, his eyes as cold as snow.
“What are you up to? What’s there to pick up in a bunch of tattered flowers? Do you like him too?”
Isabela pushed him away directly, saying coldly, “Mr. Cressey, you’re just my boss. You have no right to ask about who I’m with.”
Darren’s face turned uglier, his grip on her hand getting stronger, leaving red marks on her hand.
“Yeah, but don’t forget, the company prohibits office romances. If you dare to agree to him, I’ll kick him out of the Cressey Group tomorrow!”
Isabela knew he always did what he said he would, she didn’t want to drag others down, she could only tell the truth.
“I didn’t like him, and I didn’t plan to be with him.”
-Darren’s face finally relaxed a bit, suddenly letting go of her hand, and revealed the true purpose of coming today.
“The photos at the annual meeting were indeed switched by Elaine, but she found out the truth, so it’s understandable that she’s mad at you. Once this matter settles down, I will promote you to the head of the secretarial department, double your salary, you can work at ease. Elaine has promised me that this is the last time, she won’t deliberately target you again, so you don’t need to argue with her anymore.”
His conditions were very tempting, but Isabela was indifferent.
She took a deep breath, ready to tell him about quitting.
But as soon as he opened his mouth, Elaine’s phone rang.
“Darren, I want to go to the beach for a few days, will you come with me?
Darren gently told her this, no longer caring about Isabela, and then turned and left.
He left in a hurry, didn’t hear what she said.
“I didn’t need a promotion, because I had already handed in my resignation.”
Watching the door slowly closing, Isabela lowered her eyes.
Forget it, he’ll know one day.
For the next period of time, Darren stayed with Elaine and didn’t come back, Isabela also went back to work as usual Gerald was transferred back to his hometown branch the next day, she didn’t even get to see him one last time.
People in the company still gave her strange looks, but no one mentioned the annual meeting again.
Everything calmed down, tubela went to HR and asked if she could resign early.
The HR person looked a bit hesitant and said, “Isabela, if you want to process things early, you’ll need Mr. Cressey’s approval.” Isabela nodded and prepared a resignation letter for early departure.
I was about to go find Darren to get his signature, when he happened to call and gave me an address, telling me to hurry over right away.
She walked to the door of the private room in the club, only to find Darren’s brothers and Elaine there, a group of people playing games lively.
Seeing her, Darren looked up and glanced at the wine glass on the table.
“Elaine lost a few games, she can’t drink alcohol today because of her period, you drink for her, one shot for ten thousand.” Isabela knew that Darren had overindulged in alcohol before, which ruined his stomach, so now he can’t touch a drop. Chapter 5

Otherwise, he would definitely drink for Elaine himself.
She looked at the dozen or so glasses of whiskey on the table and spoke softly.
“Mr. Cressey, it’s after work hours now, I have the right to refuse the task you assigned to me. If you insist on me doing it, I don’t need money, just need you to sign here.”
Darren furrowed his brows slightly, “Sign? Sign what?”
Isabela handed over the application, he was about to open it, but Elaine pulled his hand and acted coquettishly.
“Darren, I lost again, hurry up and let her drink.”
Darren gently replied to her, without looking closely again.
He signed his name decisively and threw the pen back.
“Signed, now you drink.”
